ICE SCRATCHERS... best place to put them?

Ok. i just got done putting a 156 on my gen II and i bought some scratchers. Since i converted my suspension over from my 136 rails, i'm wondering where the most effective place is to put my scratchers is? Also, which wheels should i keep and which ones should i remove?

thanks!

Here's where it sits right now... comments, questions?

Farther forward the better. I ran a 151 with no wheels for several years. It is your choice if you want to keep any wheels.

i ended up putting a pair of wheels near the rear torque arm, for riding in colorado, i probably don't need to put anymore on? Also, those rear idler wheels i put on near the rear torque are they even going to make a difference?

Put the scratchers as far forward as you can.
I hope you are considering a longer tunnel extension, your current setup looks way too short if you were to bottom out.

not really. track stuck out farther on my stocker extension, than it does now. I can't really see bottoming out hard enough for it to be an issue anyways...

anyone else feel my tunnel extension is too short?

Moun them as far forward as possible but make sure you have a good spot to "Rest" them at when you're not using them.

Yes, Your tunnel is too short. You'll catch your flap on your track in the whoopties and that makes your buddies behind you pay more attention to it than the trail you're riding on !!!

meh. i think i'm going to leave it how it is, unless i have major problems with it. it does seem a "little" short, but as for how it was before i put the new tunnel on, it definitely sticks out farther than it did stock.

Put them on your ski's, the local yammi dealer is mounting them there on all of there demo sleds.

mine are mounted there, on a 4" 1.5x1.5 aluminum angle. Put them as far forward as you can get them so the angle doesn't interfere with your tie down bar. I don't have a picture of mine but can post one if you like.

I road all day sunday and didn't have them self deploy.

I had them on my rails for a while and they only sprayed the back 1/4 of the sled. since moving them to the front they spray everything.

As many others have already stated mount them as far forward as possible on the rails. The farther forward the better they work at lubricating the hy-fax and hitting the rear cooler. On all of my mountian sleds I never run any wheels, but this is based on the fact that I mainly ride off trail. The trails are a way to get to where the riding areas are. If you mainly ride trails I would keep the wheels. just my .002 cents...

Additionally you can check out my web site for mounting instructions at www.scorchersicescratchers.com

Hope you find this information helpfull,
Michael
