Ice Block In Front Of Radiator...Help!

I was looking over the sled tonight and I found a large ice block in front of the front radiator.
This must have been from some of the deeper powder we found over the weekend. Iam thinking of wraping the honey comb shaped vents with window screen.
This should allow air flow and keep out snow. Good Idea or Bad..??
Or maybe use some sort of expanded metal to get the hole size smaller. I ride mostly trails so would like to keep the radiator.
What are your guys thoughts...???
Thanks!

Get a sheet of prefilter or vent foam.... I use some epoxy to attach it to it.... helped that out big time

I used to have that exact same problem. I used the metal window screening and haven't had a problem since.

Any of the above ideas will work perfectly well. However, a much cheaper option is to just take off the vent panel and put a black nylon (the women's fashion thingy) over the entire piece and reinstall.

I used pet screen. Held in place with Ultra Black silicone. I used strips of duct tape to hold the screen tight to the frame until it hardened up.

Well the window screen worked. Rode through some deep powder over the weekend and no ice block.

I removed the plastic intakes and wrapped them with screen...then put back in place.

I did the same thing with a couple of the hood vents.

Total cost $2.50.

I put SLP radiator deletes in both of our 600 switchbacks and blocked off the vents with plexiglass and rivets. If you want to keep the venting, go the fabric store and get some fabric called organza. I've made intake vents (on the counsel by the handlebars), headlight adjuster covers, and repaired my SLP vents with this material with great success. You could back it up with some metal screen in a case like the belly pan venting on the IQ chassis. Just wear a disguise when you head to the fabric store! LOL
