so i finally have the sled all back together and take it out yesterday and today for a shake down run. i had removed the carbides off the simmons gen I skis so they didnt chew up my garage floor and didnt think i needed them back on with the soft snow and just to cross the parking lot a couple of times. Skis are toast......flat as a pancake on the bottom...especially the inside runner. Real dumb.

well that was dumb .....maybe Barrack will stimulate you and buy some new skis ...maybe

Dumb

If that is the dumbest thing you ever do consider yourself blessed!

good thing your sled wasn.t a kid...child welfare would remove it from your home...anyway thanks for the warning..

i lost one last year miles from home. noticed snow being kicked up checked it out and the stud had broked off my fairly new skag on my xp. it happened three times last year? i wouldnt think they would lighten that area but? either way the ski was pretty much shot in a couple miles without even hitting much gravel. luckilly i was near a buddies farm that i hadent talked to in a year, got a hold of him went to his cousins and bent it straight welded a new stud on and i was on my way.

happened earlier that year on my mod sled late on a sat so the gas station was still open and had a service shop with an old stick welder. no damage that time
