I shot a grizzly with two cubs

Hey guys,
Haven't you guys ever been to that park that has the animals set up so you can take pics with them so you can pretend you hunted them all. it's kinda cool if your into that stuff.

Nice pics Dan!! :face-icon-small-coo Watching Griz in the wild is something else...and one never does know what they might do. Unfortunately my experiences with them have been chasing them on foot (DUMB!), and not getting any pics. :face-icon-small-blu

I have had one of those *kitty's* hanging around camp this year...can't say that thrills me none too much! :face-icon-small-sho

Nice shots of the bears.

Not understand the point of the others.

Kitty - If it was someone else - I prolly wouldn't believe it, but you chasing a Grizz on foot - I just may believe. I'm guessing that you had a trump card in your hand just in case?

.

The first time, my trump card was that my sons (grown) were sleeping in tents behind my camper...and the female Griz was out in the field maybe 25 or 30 yards away when I spotted her out my window. At that point, I really didn't even think of anything except that she was going away and not going to be a threat to my "cubs." Tank top & boxers (pj's since it was early morn) with a pair of Birkenstocks slipped on, and I was after her at a full run. I honestly didn't give any thought to anything other than she was too close for comfort to my sons. :o

2nd time...again in my campground, feeling a responsibility to the campers whom were staying here. No other trump card.

3rd and 4th times same as 2nd time, except I did grab my bear spray.

I don't know what I would have done had these Griz turned on me. I hadn't thought that far ahead. I was just in protective mode. I've had time to give it thought now, and my plan is to not do this again. :face-icon-small-blu The Griz all probably thought I was crazed - running & yelling at them, and that's why they ran....I don't know. Or a guardian Angel was watching out for me. Definitely NOT a smart thing to do!! My protective instinct kicked in before my brain. I would NOT recommend anyone do this! And yes, I've heard about it from those who saw the incidents, plus from Fish Wildlife & Parks since I had to report that there were Griz in the campground.

CW---stick on that black suit from your sig and that bear would have wet itself:face-icon-small-ton The bear was probably thinking, "What the @#$%? Seriously woman, what is your problem?" Haha. Glad you don't have any PHYSICAL evidence to show off!:fish:

He prolly thought that you were rabid or something. :face-icon-small-win

The Bir ..... Birki ..... :face-icon-small-con .... Birki ... AW HECK - Those hippy mocosins .... those were his first clue! :face-icon-small-win

I'm guessing that you keep a Sat Night Special tucked in your bra most of the time eh?
But I guess that aint no one eyed jack in this case eh?

Those episodes were some of the poorer choices I've made. :o And trust me, I heard all about it....including from the hubby whom watched me take off running before he could even more or say a word. :face-icon-small-sho

The first Griz was a collared one, she'd been captured 3 times previously. She got it a 4th time (they had to snare her because she wouldn't go in the traps anymore), and I was invited to go watch the hard release. Before she was released, I got to get out and see her in the cage they had put her in, and get some pics. She wouldn't even look at me. She'd turn and go to the other end, so I'd go down there...repeat process. Our FWP Griz peeps told me she must remember me and consider me the "alpha." LOL Next time I'm home I'll have to grab some of those pics off of my PC and put them onto my laptop.

Ox...I don't consider my Birk's hippy shoes. They're just comfy, and quick & easy to slip on. :face-icon-small-ton I do have a S&W .40, but I don't pack it that often (don't try coming in my camper uninvited). I'm looking at getting something a bit smaller to pack around (maybe a .357)...though it is nice having 3 clips ready to go. In the meantime I may start packing my S&W .38 a bit more. I'm more worried about 2 legged critters than I am the 4 legged ones.

Sorry Dan to get off topic. If you have more pics, please do post them. I love seeing shots like yours! :)
