I Saw the iPhone's Most Underrated iOS 18 Feature. We Should Be Talking About It More

T-Mobile has a Beta test going on for star link satellite. Right now it is free to all t-mobile users. I would think a 14 or newer iPhone would be required. Not sure what android phone requirements are to access starlink. I am sure in time it will probably be an extra cost.

Love the inReach and use it both for ATV riding and Sledding, BUT, it chaps my cheeks every time i have to pay that *&%# monthly fee!!!
When there is another option, Garmin is going bye bye :)

I have and use a mini InReach. No one likes the monthly payment that's understandable. My thought is a free service for two years sounds great. Maybe enough time to kill the InReach program then start charging extra to cover the sat communications. Thus, costing the same or maybe more in the long run. Now that sounds like I don't trust the phone companies, well that's because I don't. They like profits plain and simple.

Charge me for ACTUAL USAGE and not a monthly subscription for MAYBE using it at some point.
In a real emergency, I will PAY THE PRICE pretty much whatever the price may be.

I've had an InReach Mini for years. I'm keeping it around for the time being until we see what becomes of this iOS Satellite connectivity. I've set it up on my phone but haven't done much with it yet. I want at to be sure it's absolutely reliable. And besides, redundancy is sometimes a good thing.
