I need some Summer Tuning Tips

So I am the one who had no VES springs. Put Yellow in because I had them.

The White SLP version seems to be lighter I will get those.

I noticed carbon buildup on the roof of the Ports, I will most likely do the Top End even if just to put in rings and clean things up.

I bought it last fall with about 300 miles on the motor. I put 1000 on it trouble free.

It has the freaking loud CPI stinger on it, Should I keep that or put and SLP on it?

I like it becasue it pi ss es off the Cat and Doo riders.

I really wonder how much back pressure it gives, may be some of the power band issues. I know the VES springs (putting some in ) flattened out the band
considerable amount. It would stutter to about 7500 then hold on for dear life.
It would run hard at 8100 -8200. With VES springs in at least I have some smoother power come in at about 5000. It runs much better cold also. It always idled good.

I will put a new clutch bolt in.

I need anti ratchets, I got the track very tight to quit the Ratchet issue.

I will do the 09 Plastic and bumper

Just put in a new Pull rope.

A couple thoughts...

If it is infact "freaking loud" throw the SLP on there... other sledders will like you a lot better... and may help save a riding area;):beer;

8100-8200 RPM  Why are you spinning so fast? Even with the SLP pipe you should only be spinning 7800 RPM... Do any of the other mods recommend spinning it up faster?

Ratcheting... ya my buddy ported his 166 and has had to tighten it a LOT to prevent ratcheting... and he still gets the odd slip every once in a while... anti-ratchets may be a good idea.

New clutch bolt.... sounds like a good idea to me... ;)

I also love my 900, also very glad I bought it.:D:D

Tip #1: Trim the dirty Sanchez, you'll have less snot/ice buildup!

If you live in Colorado, you might run into problems with a loud sled this next winter. Colorado will be enforcing noise ordinances for sleds.
