I love this sled!!!

I just thought I would share something good about the 2013 Pro. First off I had a 2011 Pro that had no major issues, ran great, and I loved the sled but wanted the 13 due to the upgrades. So far my 13 has given me a smile from ear to ear. It only has 180 miles on it and has had the collar on since mile 17 but has run perfect. I understand that it doesn’t have very many miles and something might break but I don’t worry about it and I just ride and enjoy.
The part I wanted to share was a ride I went on with a group of new people Saturday in Southern Idaho. I’m from Idaho as well and love it!!!! I’m not going to share what all the others were riding because that doesn’t matter, but I was the only one on a Pro. When we were giving introductions and telling everyone what we ride, I was asked if I had the update on the drive shaft, if I have replaced the quick drive belt yet, a tow rope, and etc, etc. The list went on and on, and I just laughed and said lets go riding. Throughout the day they helped me get unstuck and I helped them, with powder up to our waists it was just an awesome day. After the day was over and we were back at the trailer they all proceeded to tell me how impressed they were about my sled. How well it ran, how well it handled in the deep, in the trees, on the side hills, and everything in between. They just like how it performed.
With everything said I love getting out and riding on a sled that is just awesome to be on! Just thought I would share. Everybody be safe and have a great time on the snow…. :face-icon-small-hap

Just got back from riding and I am loving my 13 more every ride.
these things rip, powerful and responsive.
250 totally trouble free miles

I just don't know why so many people are having troubles with the pro. I personally wouldn't buy anything else. I have a 2012 PRO with 1000 troubleFree miles. My buddy has the exact same sled with 1700 trouble free miles, my nephew and my brother have 2013's and have done the clamp and other than that, no problems. I have yet to talk to anyone up here in Alaska where I ride that has anything bad to say about them. Now on the other hand, all my buddies that ride brand x, they do nothing but knock them. My theory is... do proper maintenance, worm them up properly, stay away from synthetic and don't hold the throttle wide open all the time.

Please explain why you think this.

I don't have any scientific facts to prove any of this, but here is my experiences. To start with, I live in a very humid environment here in coastal Alaska. I have tens of thousands of miles on snowmachines here on the Kenai Peninsula. The only sleds I have blown up, I was running synthetic in (VES Gold). For example... I bought new in 1998 a 700 RMK, I ran nothing but Dino oil in this and got 8,000 miles on the stock engine. Then I bought another 2000 700 RMK and got 6,000 miles on stock engine before I sold it. I asked the guy I sold that one to a several years back if he still had it and if it was still running, he said yes and that he had no idea how many miles it had because the spedometer quit after he got it. He ran Polaris blue in it. Then I bought a new 2003 700 RMK with pretty much the same motor but with exhaust valves. I was told to run VES Gold in it from the dealer. This machine blew at 3,000 miles (rod bearings) and I rebuilt it. 2,000 miles later and I lost bearings again, so I sold it. I then bought a 2005 900 RMK and did all the updates to it. At 500 miles I seized the pistons and at 1,200 miles I lost rod bearings. After rebuilding it for the second time, I switched over to Castrol 2T snow. Now I have 5,000 miles on this sled and I still own it. (Love it)

So after all this I did some more experimenting and determined that the synthetic has less rust protection. In our humid environment, if the sled sat for a few weeks or more, it would start rusting a little on the bearings and over time be shot. Like I said, this is my experiences.

Dont even know why people complain about parts breaking? look at what we put them threw.. Mine broke yesterday but it is what it is and we have one hell of a story to go with it so as long as no ones hurt and you got to burn a little premium then its been an awesome day...

Its still my favorite sled ever...

I have my opinions too. I rode a 250hp naturally aspirated tank for the last 14 years. Dinky little 1" driveshaft, weak little rails, and a really long hyvo chain. I never broke a single chain in all the miles and years I had it, and the one driveshaft I did break was definitely my bad, plus it had about 1,000,000 miles on it at the time.

I think the fact that sounds like most guys have been able to ride them out with the broken belt says lots, and the driveshaft, well I believe that glue shouldn't be used in drivetrain parts but they did so if we ride accordingly I think it'll be great. They flat out work for what they were intended. 41 miles on mine so far, love it, don't miss the HP for a second.

Have a 2011 800 with 1800 miles, have a 2012 600 with 1000 miles and a 2013 800 with 450 miles and have zero issues with any. 2013 is by far the best sled I have ever been on. Rode in over the hood snow yesterday all day and I still can't stop smiling.

I have a 12 Pro completly stock except BB.1" riser ,MBRP can.I just love this thing 888 trouble free miles all mountain riding.I did a 72.2 mile ride on Saturday with 45cm of fresh snow and never ran out of fuel, Amazing. My other 4 riding buddies are all on older iron .2010XP,2008 RMK 700,07 M700, and even a new guy on an old Verticle escape. Through out the day I switched to let them try my pro and also rode theirs out of some stucks each time jumping back on my pro which felt like a Ferrari compared to a beatle. I just can't believe these guys ride that old iron. I know for most its economic reasons. The guy riding the 10 XP is a very good rider for a newbie but he is only 39 and I am 52 and at the end of the day he was a lot more tired than me and we are both in pretty good shape,he is also a bigger stronger guy.The pro just flat out works with way less effort to throw around.

Love my 13 Pro too!

My Fiancee  got me a 2013 800 Pro Rmk for christmas. I love that sled!! He rides a 2012 Pro and mine whoops his everytime. The belt drive and the fine tuning Polaris did made a huge difference! Havent had them up in the Mountians yet ( Cooke City Bound mid Feb) but have had a blast running them down around here in ND. Cant wait to get up in the real powder and really see what it can do!

I finally got to ride mine in the mountains
What really impressed me was the sled ability to get on top of the snow and stay there. On some very steep climbs it just kept crawling up the hill no trenching. I actually was trying to stick it in some places and was having a hard time getting stuck. It just claws away at the hill.
The sled climbing ability surprised me and in used to a tnytro at 270 hp. It's no chute climber but still is very impressive for a stocker.

Trail manners are not the best but who cares anyway

1,285 happy, torquey, trouble free miles on my '12. Over 250 of those this past weekend.

Some things I did/do

1) Turned up the oiler 2.5 turns
2) Run a bit of pre-mix
3) Keep the tank topped off to prevent/minimize condensation
4) Turn the cylinders over slowly a couple times before starting
5) ALWAYS let the motor warm up before riding

I'm running the original plugs. I can't wait til my track wears out!
