I HATE parking lot cowboys

This is my 24th year of snowmobiling. Every year I ride it seems as if we have more and more idiots in the parking lots for unloading and loading. As soon as they ride the sled off the trailer they want everyone around to watch them. They start the sled and put the hammer down. I hate that, let the sled warm up, unload, then go ride. The funny part of these people is that they truly can't ride. They buy brand new mountain sleds, ride them in the parking lot like they are bad a$$es and they do not have a clue how to ride in the mountains.

This has bothered me for a long time, but after riding at Togwotee this weekend and having a stupid guy from Iowa almost slam into my truck cause he was acting tough in the parking lot made me mad. Don't do that. You only look like an idiot.

AMEN!!!! First thing they need to do is learn how to park there dang trucks and trailers i hate when you pull in the parking lot and not a dang place to park but if people would park decent you could easily park 10-15 more trucks! You can sure tell who has been riding awhile. just all around better to deal with in parking lots whether it be ridin sleds or parking them!!!

Ya I would have to agree, the funny part is that usely about a 1 mile or two down the trail you will find 0ne or two of them with a tow stap atached to the sled heading in. Something about aluminum pistons and steel cyl. dont get along real well till they have a chance to warm up. just my .02

yea i see this a lot where we go sleding. let them do there dum **** in the parking lot and then when i see them in the hills i relly give them there run for there money!!! hahahah

oh man.
Go down to Albany at the snowies sometime.
You can fit a chingo of rigs in their parking lot. That is of cource unless you don't know how to park. YOu see rigs parked all over the place. There is a nice BIG sign that shows how to park and apparently no one can read.

Then you have the posers. We have this LITTLE hill next to the parking lot.
I don't know how many times I see guys on full mod sleds race up this itty bitty hill then turn around and race back down. It would be funny if it wasn't so pitiful.
We call it "A" cup hill.

You gotta love it.

I actually had some dude come tearing into the parking lot this weekend, pulled up right next to me. Started yammering away about this being his first time in that area, almost bragging about the damage that he had done to his sled, and that I need to be careful. I said I was well aware of the hidden treasures in the area and that he needed to be more careful. He started going on about something else, bagged on my sled for a while then tore around the parking lot some more..

We rode all day found some epic snow and none of us got any damamge. :D

great topic, i see this in cali, all the time brand new 800 all piped out racing all over the parking lot. then i see these guys in the bowls dorking around but their scared to jump off a rock! weak.

I agree that albany is one of the worst. I have ridden most places in Wyoming as I have lived here my whole life. But I have never seen anywhere as bad as albany and above centennial. It drives me nuts, and it gives snowmobilers a bad name. I know you are excited to ride, I always am, but just wait till the sled is warm and you are away from the truck and riding.

parking lot hot dogs

Yeah! I remember last year when we were leaving, some other guys were unloading. One guy pulls out of the trailer, no coat, no helmet, hammers it, hits the drift along side the lot, and dumped it!:D It was great entertainment! They wouldn't do it if there wasn't an audience.:p

agreed they may be annoying but what i have found is that the more of these guys there are the more riding area i have to myself. i too hate it when i pull in to an parking lot and see a ton of rigs but over the years i have found that 99% of them never ride the areas i do (or just can't get there more often than not due to their fear of breaking trail) and on most days i never see anyone but the guys i'm with. i just commented to a couple of buddies that i loved the fact the vast majority of people are scared to really venture off trail or out of the little area they know or can see from their trucks. plus a would say a large number of dudes on the biggest, baddest, latest and greatest mountain sleds would really be better on a trail sled. be annoyed at them in the parking lot but love them when you killing the freshies!

Its especially fun to watch the guys who buy the new sleds, brand new truck and a sled deck just to look cool, and watch that fiasco. Ive seen more than one come off a sled deck. Then they can get about half way up when they load and then pin it, blowin paddles off...lol. Go back to the mall parking lot.

Parking at that place is awful. It is rather amusing though... gotta do the poser pass a time or two, but yeah... disappear into the trees and let them do their thing in the parking lot without you.

Then there's the idiots that back their sled into your truck because they forgot it was in reverse.... or that dork that runs his sled through the back window of his truck... :D

This sounds a little like the boat launch in the summer. If you want some goods laughs, there's plenty to be had there. Unless you're in line waiting.

Whats wrong with messing around in the parking lot? Thats where some of the best jumps are? :D

we roll into the parking lot in our ghetto little setup, normal pickup, landscape trailer with 2 sleds, somehow we can park, get dressed and be gone, and most people havent even gotten there sleds unloaded yet.

The parking thing is rediculous, most of the people are good around us, but one wrong truck and trailer and the whole thing is a giant cluster f**K.

as for parkign lot posers, like some have said, let em pose, more steep and deep for us. i see a lot of guys parked at the bottom of 1 hill slowly taking pokes 1 at a time, we are always all over the place, somebody is marking hte hill, others are over plaing in the trees. its amazing, cuz we will see like 100 tracks right by our play area, and nobody even ventures down the old logging road we play off of.

As long as they're not hurting anyone else other than themselves and their own property, I could care less and find them rather amusing. Get the right mixture of idiots around, you can't buy entertainment like that...

I know exactly what you mean. Both the guys who take up 3 spaces with one rig and the parking lot gods showing off. A guy just this past week did his parking lot show and ran directly into the door of my new truck. His wife stood there in horror and embarrassed. I don't take to those type of things very well. The guy will have to get a new sled before he can ride again and I doubt his wife will ever go with him again. I winked at her and she smiled and was surely embarrassed at the moron she was with. Nice looking gal too.

are monster stickers associated with this crowd?? Sounds like a blast in a lawn chair and a case of beer on a nice sunny day. here is my plp story. We are at the I500 snowmobile race in soo mi. Me and my buddies are wasted. we are walking through the parking lot as the race is letting out to get back to his house. We see this kid on his bad *** F7 with loud can and fancy stickers. we talk to him about how "sick" his sled is. He then demonstrates it for us. Fires it up cold, ramps the snow bank at wide open throttle. lands in between 2 cars and just keeps it pegged. 6 inches more to the right he would have landed on the hood of nice brand new car waiting to pull out or the lot.

I've done some of my best riding in the parking lot...lol... yea your right though theres a bunch of clowns that do looser laps in the parking lot to show off there sled and the noise it makes.... yea and the douche bags wit monster decals on there sleds make me laugh when they get stuck trying to break the trail in...
