You stated in this thread that some riding areas were closed because of loud exhaust on snowmobiles I would like to read about that ,can you give me info on the areas that were closed because of this loud exhaust issue. Thanks

The responce i got was this

Its just part of the package.........if you don't think the groups that want to close our land are offended by noise you better wake and smell what your cooking, hell they want to ban all cell phones in National parks because of what they consider noise pollution, wake up before its too late

they don't like the smell of your snow machine, they don't like the noise and the don't like you trampling the snow..........they don't like your diesel truck.......they don't like your motorcycles........they don't like you

Dude.......are you really that blind

Are you kidding me I'm just looking for info so i can be more informed about whats going on out there. Then this comes along.

Here in anchorage we have dirt track that is used for racing in the summer.the snow machine club wants to use it in the winter.the greenies argued that the sleds were to loud and that the riders would not stay int the area.when it was put to vote the snow club won but must retain certain decibel levels.instead of relying on Dave to post a video, maybe you could do your own research.we are loosing riding areas because of the disrespect of a few who think the louder you are the faster you are.

Now i'm not sure what video hes talking about but I'm told to not rely on some one else for info and research it my self?I would think that if he had knowledge of riding areas that were shut down because of loud pipes it would be shared. Sorry but i felt these were fairly hostile reply"s I would have thought People would have been happy to share the info But i guess not.I do not cinsider a race track a riding area but thats just me i guess. I do not think that loud pipes are really needed either but have never heard of these issues around here its always about some animals.I was only curious as to where this is happening.

Noise is an issue back here in the flats hardass.

But our riding is mainly trails and many go pretty close to populated areas.

Larry I have seen issues with the flatlanders, they actually get tickets for having modified exhausts and or too loud of exhaust. I saw it on TV so it must be real right?!? Haha but really, I did see this happen, and you can bet that if it is already illegal to run over a certain decibel level they have loud pipes/sleds on their radar for the future. I also know for fact that there is decibel level on some riding areas down in McCall.
