So i picked up my New Blue 146 XP and a spare belt, but the one that is on the sled and the other one that my dealer gave me are different, one is the 357 and the other is the 377. The 357 came stock, and just a note it is very tight, already i had to loosen off my secondary. Which belt should i keep and use?

i thought they were coming with the 377. on my paper work the spare that they are throwing in is a 166, i will have to argue with them when i pick it up

my dealer was going to charge me for a 150$ spare out of my 250$ accessory package, which i said no thanks, ill probably use one of the 3 belts from last year as my get home emergency belts. if this new belt setup doesnt work i probably wont be in the mood to ride anymore that day anyhow

so what is the difference between 377 and 357? i'm going to assume that the 377 is longer??

No man, me, harvey and my ol man bought them off of GVP. I hope they run good this year thats why i want to get the right belt

The 166 was the original belt last year. It is thinner and longer with a softer compound. The 377 was the newer belt from midseason that was the supposed fix. It is thicker and shorter so it offers more adjustment as it wears and is made of a more heat resistant compound. I thought that the 357 belt was coming on the trail sleds only but I may be wrong.

as far as i know of the 377 was they belt that they were going to come with. and like quick draw said the 166 was last years belt

Hey Dock can you post the whole part number off that belt. I just did a search off ski-doo's parts finder and a 417300357 comes up as a belt guard for a mxz -rs. I haven't see that part number on a belt and all the 09's I have seen are comming with a 417300377 belt from the factory.

I must be on drugs or having to much to :beer;, both my blets are the same, the # on them is 417 300 377. One thing i have noticed though, is when i go to set it at the correct lenght (string just over the top of the secondary) the belt is way to tight? if i idle the engine the track will spin and already i have belt streaks on the primary (and nobody likes streaks). Does anyone's belt ride right stock?

I didn't set mine up to the string last year even though the book says to. I put the edge of the clutch near the bottom of the grooves. (377)

Don't know what is right, other than, don't have it squeaking at idle.

The first thing you need to doo with those new belts is to give them a good wash in warm soapy water using a brush, then let them air dry. All your doing now is smearing the belt release compound all over you new clutchs.
