I FEEL INSULTED !!!!

Came from the dealer today and got some numbers. Trading my 2011 Pro RMK 800 155 turbo silver on a 2012 Pro RMK 800 155 orange. 3100 for a 2 year warranty and 600 in PGA. Then if I opt out of the PGA they will take another 450 off the price of the sled, so 2700 to boot with a 2 year and no gear. Tell me if Im out of line for being upset, if it was under 2g I would have pulled the trigger but this seems like BS. (1000 miles on the sled and would be my 8th new one from the same dealer) Anyone else get some numbers on trading a Pro on a Pro.

yeah that sucks. I wonder if I can get a better deal or not. This is also why mine is for sale....

don't forget to tell them about the 1000 bucks back from polaris u get...so it would be 1700 then.

Well, I'm sure they want to have at least a $1,000 margin to cover any reconditioning/servicing, probably store it all summer at this point, and then hopefully still turn some profit. That wouldn't sound out of line to me. So that leaves $1,700....I'm sure they will have to price your sled so that it's at least $1,700 cheaper than a new one in order for it to make sense for someone to buy it. So that doesn't really sound out of line either. If Pol actually does give you another $1,000 then for $1,700 it's a no brainer....

I know about the 1000, that comes to you via visa or MC gift card, so yeah 1700. But is the dealer knowing your getting 1000 and adjusting their price to make a little more? Anyone else get quoted on trading a pro on a pro. If everyone else is getting a similar deal I wont feel so bad and maybe do it.

Cause its paid for and if you keep these things 2-4 years it is just to big of a chunk to get current again. And I feel like if I dont I will be throwing away that 1000 dollar rebate, so actually 1700 for orange side panels.

Just curious what the price of the New Pro RMK 800 155 is going to be snowchecked. Assuming its gonna be int he 12,500 range, I would think that you are crazy thinking that any dealer is going to deal with a trade if they have less than a $1000 dollar profit to make once they service it and spend the time to resell the unit, along with storage for the year. Especially since they are rightfully assuming that they are going to have a bunch of trade ins to receive the 1000 dollar kick back...KBB doesnt do 2011 sleds yet but I bet you that the trade in value for a 2011 is around 8k bucks with a 1000 miles on it which means that if they tried to resell for 9k than your 2700 dollar addition doesnt seem to far out of line to me....

$1000?

Is there a place a guy can go and find out how this $1000 deal works? I would be interested in doing a deal on mine, come next Feb. If the cash/credit is still there at that time. Bought mine on 02/26/11.

$1700ish to boot, does not seem outa control for a one year trade? Unless the sled had stupid low miles, say under 400mi? $2700 with out the cash would be a beat down though. Just remeber once you sign the papers, you can't even sell it back to them, for what you paid for it.:face-icon-small-dis

Keep in mind no matter what a person buys new, the biggest percent of depreciation comes in the first year. Also I read that the 2012 is $750.00 more than a 2011 snocheck? If that's correct, that trade difference doesn't sound out of line. And maybe the dealer is assuming you will ride it more this year and it'll have higher miles than 1000???

Not really that out of line, you should try buyin a exotic sports car and tradin in a year later......bring ur own lube....lol ;) :D

i priced out a new snocheck pro and its 13500 before taxes and shipping etc. dissipointed they only have one yr warentee here dicks

Has anyone looked at an outright purchase instead of trading? I sold both of my sleds already and am wondering what a dealer will do outright. Rexsburg seems to have good pricing, just don't know if I want to travel that far for a sled.

I think your number seems pretty close, the majority of the depreciation happens in the first year. I usually trade every 2 years, and it has cost me around 5k the last 2 times.

If you think it's worth more, you can try and sell it yourself.

The other way to look at is if someone was going to pay 9k for a used sled wouldn't they pay 11k for a new one and take advantage of 0% and all the goodies. It's a tough sell for the dealer. (not exact numbers but you catch the drift)

My 2 cents.

best of luck with your purchase

Go to $1000 trade in post.MH has the info on there that should help.

I think your deal sounds pretty sweet. There are alot of dealers who won't even deal in used sleds. Most the guys I've known that trade and update every season have to shell out between $3,000 to $4,000.

Dealer

Just curious if it's the dealer in the town closest to you? If it is I haven't been able to deal with them at all on sleds but getting back to what other people have said none of these dealers want sleds to carry over the summer. Best of luck to you. I have a 2011 assault switch that I am pondering on getting rid of for a new pro 155
