Hunting here after September is mostly nasty weather, and almost always EXPENSIVE!
winter Elk hunts on the Islands require taking the Ferry over to Kodiak then a boat or a plane and possibly a cabin (weather sucks)
Deer hunt boat or plane out to the sound.
there's a couple winter hunts in the interior for moose and caribou but by then it is cold, cold sooooooooooooooo friggin COLD
most of our hunts are just registration hunts, locals only need a license and to pick up the tages
we have some drawing hunts for some of the areas, cow hunts, any bull hunts, sheep, goat, bear, buffalo etc.... i do pretty well your allowed to apply for 3 hunts for each species.
then it gets expensive unless you have a close relative here, big game requires a guide not to mention the fees for out of state lic and tags

you need a guide or relative along for bear, sheep and moose i think. it's a way to keep the guides in business
