I am going to be in the Sicamous, Revelstoke, Golden and Fernie area over the next two weeks. I am rolling up there solo from Colorado and looking for people to ride with while I am up there. Hopefully can hook up with a few people through this website and then will try to meet people at the trailheads, bars, restaraunts, hotels, etc when I get up there. I have avalanche training, try to ride smart (read stay off avy terrain), can hold my own in the pow and bigger terrain (but ready to get my mind blown), respect the dangers of riding the big terrain of BC, have been riding snowmobiles for 24 years (I'm 33), am riding a 2012 Summit X 154 and am ready to have a great time. My tentative schedule is:
Tues Jan 10: drive from Vail, CO to Bozeman Mt to stay w/ friends for 2 nights.
Wed Jan 11: snowboard at Big Sky Ski resort. probably no sledding there since the snow is thinner and DO NOT want to hit anything b4 getting to BC.
Thursday Jan 12 arrive in Sicamous. Ride that area Fri/Sat
Saturday or Sunday'ish Jan 14/15: head over to Revy for around 5 or 6 days. I have 2 free ski passes for the ski resort, so i will likely snowboard 1 day, maybe 2. all other days will be spent sleddin
Friday'ish Jan 20th, drive to Golden: spend a day or two there sledding
Sun/Monday Jan 22/23: head to Fernie for some sleddin
Start making my way back after that.
I'm sort of between jobs and just got divorced, so I'm not in any hurry to get back home!! None of my crew can make it on such short notice, so hence I am rolling solo and hoping the Big Guy looks out for me.
If you think you might have room in your group for a rider, please let me know. I am very flexible from the above stated schedule: so if there is a remote chance it might work, please contact me.
