Hydraulic Fluid Question

As always when I have a question about anything, I come here.lol

I bought a 2 post auto lift and have been installing it over the last couple of weeks in my spare time. The owner's manual says to use 10wt. anti foam/rust hydraulic fluid or ATF Dextrose 3. The dealer I bought it from said he uses AW32 hydraulic over the ATF. Better on the seals.

Here is my question: My Dad has about 10 gallons of AW46 in his shop from his BIG snowblower for his tractor. Will this work about the same? I don't know the characteristics or difference of either one.

As always thanks in advance.

Kevin

I just use the recommended oil.
Keeps things simpler.
If it is a used unit, use what ever oil was used in it before. Never mix oils unless you know for a fact it is compatable.
If it is new, just call the manufacturere and ask.
