HWY 50 - reno to utah

Never taken hwy 50 over to Utah. How is the drive? Would it be quicker to get there on i80?

Depends on where you want to go in Utah. 50 brings you out at Delta which is considerably south from SLC where 80 takes you.

80 is almost always quicker, even for stuff way south of SLC.


That said, 50 is a pretty neat drive. If you've got the time it's worth checking out. I just drove across NV on it last week. If you're driving at night don't worry about it, just take 80.

I've done HWY 6 from Bishop CA thru TONOPAH to Ely then the 93 up to Twin Falls and beyond.

I was cruising at 75+ and 18 wheelers passed like we're sitting still !

HWY 6 straightest stretches of road I have ever been on.

... and lots of bunnies at night !

I hear ya on the big rigs!! Cruise control set on 75 and they come up on ya and disappear in seconds. Some of them with triples!! Crazy fast.
