HVAC guys, need help

If it does stop again it is possible the intake side of the flue is being subject to back pressure from improper venting outside. If it is going horizontally out it may need turned down 90 degrees.

Interesting.

The intake and exhaust come out of the wall quite close to the ground (it's a real old house), make a 90 degree turn up, then have an upward run of 2 and 3 feet and then have a 90 degree elbow on the top.

West, Northwest wall with wind??? How "close" to the ground does it come out? 2" or 3" PVC and how far. Did you just have this affinity installed this summer or has it ran for a winter?? Just curious, probably the pressure switch.

Beels also take your Hot surface ignitor out and clean it if you haven't. Use light sandpaper or a dollar bill.

I had the same problem with my furnace. I jumped out the Pressure switch and still had the problem. Just another thing to do before it gets really cold.

East wall is where it exits. Prevailing winds from the west here. 2" PVC and the openings end up 2 and 3 ft from the ground. Furnace was installed early in November of '07 so it's ran one full winter.

Changed the pressure switch and it hasn't missed a beat since.

I had the cover off the burner box and everything was clean as new.

Trust me, it has been working. Windchill has been between in the mid -20C for the past couple days.

The new Yorks are great furnaces, I've been selling them for years now. But just like anything, parts go bad! Good Luck!
