Husqvarna 701

If the 701 would be your only bike then go for it , people run all kind of bike as a snowbike for fun

I have a 690 on a explorer for two year now and I have been enjoying it , looking to upgrade to a camso or timbersled soon

I think it depends on where and how you ride. In the extremely steep areas that we ride in North Idaho, where your elbow and handlebar are routinely dragging during side-hills I don't think it would work out. It seems that every tip over results in the bike being in a handlebar downhill and track uphill situation and after a few of those, even a 220 pound 450 feels very heavy. Extra weight in those instances would be brutal. Especially on the days where the snow is sack deep.

But, like the others said, if it is your only option it would still be a hell of a lot better than not going at all. And still more fun than a sled.

Enjoy.

I ride in Quebec , mostly flatland , some ditch and small hill , lots of time bettween the trees , snow conditions are 3 to 5 feet deep and most of the time crusty becuz of intermittent rain period making a track that can handle ice a nice to have feature

First ride was on a drz 400 / explorer
Now on a 690 /explorer and looking forward to upgrade to a camso or timbersled

It is great to ride to and around the cabin , it won t beat any of the 450 for sure on those condition listed above but on a positive note I get a 2 seater ? That can handy SOME of the time

It does beat the summit witch will be for sale soon

I think you are in for a pretty big shock when you switch to a camso or tsled. If you are grinning now, hold on!!
