Husky FC Or the FX

I've talked with couple of dealers , differences between the two bikes seem to only be gas tank, kick stand, rear rim and stator .
My main concern would be cam, ignition and flywheel weights but nobody could give me a solid answer on the two motors. After riding 501 for two years I'm wanting the extra couple thousand rpm that the 450 gives
Anybody out there no 100% the motor differences are. Thx

Thx for the reply Dave but wouldn't you think the fx will have different type of power hit because it's now replacing the FE as the new woods bike . I wouldn't want a motocross bikes motor in the woods, be quite gnarly in tight terrain
So maybe same motor just heavier flywheel weights and timing curve

I like how this FX is setup when compared to the Yammi 450FX that has different gear ratios from the YZF. I think it will be a better snowbike than the YZFX is for this reason. However, what the jury is still out on for a bit, is how the AER fork will do in the winter. Some guys have OK luck with previous generation air forks, but the guys who have bad luck have REALLY bad luck and it can get expensive fast.

We will have to see.

Well new FX it is after hearing feedback and asking 3 different husky dealers , the conclusion is same motor , timing ,flywheel weights and tranny as the FC. Even tho this will be a dedicated snow bike being the FX should help in the resale in two years as most likely the buyer will be switching to dirt and snow.Think there is more woods type riders out there than strictly track riders but could be wrong.
3.5 months left till the fresh pow comes.

You'll want to update the fork setting anyways, even with a straight MX bike. Enjoy it!

Hey Rush, What fork spring rate do you recommend for the 4CS forks? (16 SXF 450). After the forks I think this Snow Donkey is about ready.:face-icon-small-coo

Sure appreciate any advice!

Last season I rode a Husky with .64's and the standard weight oil swapped for 5wt oil. Pretty much bottom proof and felt great. I think if you are 200+lbs that would be an excellent combo. It's what I'm going to do with my Husky this season.

Thank you for the reply! I am at 175 before gear. Did you revalve the forks?

No revalve was done on the bike and by not doing that the cost of the respring and oil is cheap by comparison. I know some guys have revalved but it doesn't seem necessary unless you plan on following Reagan Seig around and doing everything he does.
