HPS vs BMP vs MBRP vs SLP - for 600

hey all

did some searching and it SEEMS that HPS is the way to go for the Pro Ride...800's anyways
chatted w Scott direct today and he was pretty good to deal with
said that they are not making a 600 can specificially, and they 800 will fit w some slight modifications to the mid pipe (cutting some of the aluminum shroud back)

when asked about HP gains/losses he said he isnt 100% sure.....at least he was honest right? ;)

price is $369 shipped to me in Canada...about $135 more than any of the other listed above

anyone have any experience w the other brands, or should a guy just get the HPS
I was suppose to have it by now via "my parts guy", but it looks like it will be another 2-3 weeks before i see it

thoughts???

the lack of testing on the 600 concerns me a bit.....does anyone know if the other guys have tested theirs out on this new 600??

SLP is tried and true with the 600's, quality product you can't go wrong with them. Unless of course you need more noise, there new stuff is pretty quite compared to the rest. I have had SLP on my last 4 sleds, no issues. I have 800 and am thinking HPS this time.

chatted w SLP today as well
they are just starting to get them shipped this week
only a 3.5weight savings, and will look similar to the 800 can

BUT....heres the kicker

they dont think it will be retro fitted w their full system
they are still testing and the dude figured there would be a different can that was compatibale w the mid pipe and y pipe
my plan is to put a full system on this, so i want a can that will work w either a mid pipe and/or y pipe and power commander

...... :face-icon-small-con

MBRP

also chatted w them
the info they stated w 8.5-9lb weight loss, 2HP increase (can be debated, but there is NO loss) and trail version only (about 4-6DB's above stock)
100% DYNO tested and no back pressure loss at all and no power commander needed

BMP could not get a hold of......

i've ran MBRP on all my past sleds w ZERO issues
also used w Dynoport mid pipes and seen some nice gains and good throttle response

kind of answered my own question i think.....

Just bought a hps from Scott yesterday for the 600. Bmp was about 3 weeks out for there can to be ready, so I went with the hps. Most of these cans for the 600 and 800 are the same. Bmp sad there 800 can will work also.

Here is what the mbrp trail looks like on the Pro, I havent had a chance to try it out yet.

I was at my local parts dealer here today and they had an SPI (strightline performace inc) can in for this sled
it seems MOST companies i talked with are using the SAME can on the 600's and 800's
this can was designed and tested on the 800, w 5-6lbs weight loss and Jason even said 1-2MAX HP increase with it (closer to 1HP probably)

they havent tested it on the 600 yet, as they didnt have access to the machine for testing
but said it should work fine on my machine

super clean install, ceramic coated and looks pretty sweet
one of the guys at the shop has it on his 600 (same as mine) and said it has the BEST sound
deeper throaty sound, similar to an HPS, really makes the seld come alive as far as sound is concerned

at the price i got it for, thought i would give it a shot
my buddy said if i didnt like it, to bring er back and i can exchange it for something else

cant argue with that

I hasve use SPI products in the past w great success
had a REV 800 Ptek w an SPI mid pipe and it ran great

its so hard to find stock right now, everyone is back ordered or hasnt released product for this sled yet
being so impatient doesnt help!!! LOLOLOL!!!!!

here are some pics of my SPI can installed
really impressed w the fit and finish of this can
i re-used the rubber grommet that comes on the bottom of the OEM can
they (SPI) also give you a small tab that you see in the second pic
bolts into a stock bolt that holds the chaincase on (i think)

way easier to install when the hood is already removed too (waiting on my wrap to come in)
ill get a sound clip up when my hood is back on

finally got my sled all back together and fired it up
this exhaust sounds awesome (.....in the garage anyways ;) )
def sounds meaty.....actually reminds me A LOT of the THING can on my 06 REV 800
like identical!

ill report back if I notice anything different sound wise, while on the hill
so far happy w this purchase!
