HPS can and PAR Head

bought the HPS Can and PAR HEAD kit installed 2 gram heavier then I bought a 160-340 primary SLP spring

Result's

engages at 3900 with 73 MTX gram at 0 - 2000 feet, reaches 8250-8350

result's doesn't feel like any HP gain

lost the snappiness of short burst throttle

if anything a lost of performance in bottom and mid range and feels same high range and top end or maybe even a little slower, hit 84 mph stock and now can't get pass 78 mph

been running it for 3 months so there was a lot of testing involve

craftsmanship and fit is very good and very light

gain's? sound's awesome? performance out of 10? a 4 or 5

wondering if any of you guys got similar results

wondering if I put back the stock can if then there would be gain, to me in all my can experience it always been a lost of peformance

PAR head with 60-40-36 helix and 62 gram belly buster "stock springs" gained me 2 sled lengths over stock racing on hardpack.

I told several people that I didn't get very good gains and was told that I didn't set it up right. I think the HPS can is a solid piece of work and sounds great. But the PAR head actually hurt me as I needed to run the ethanol plug to avoid detonation. At that point I lost what little performance I gained. I could put in a couple gallons of race/av fuel but I didn't want to be stuck buying race/av fuel. I sold my PAR head. Just not worth it in my mind.

I might have a tip for you...

Reading about your det issue just got me thinking. Also have the par head, 12,5:1, and messed back and forth with some clutching, getting det every now and then. Understood long time a go that to fast acceleration can cause det light to flash and ignition cutout on the pro (not sure why they put this in there?).

Here's what's new: put on powerclaw 2,6" track with a 2006 rmk 900 shaft. This shafts left end is different than the pro, it does not have that gear-lookalike on the end. You must buy it and bolt it on.

I have bought it, but done 3 rides without it and not one single det happening. Zero, nothing, zip! And that actually surprises me when I think about it. New track hooks up hard and it was geared down with the 7t drivers so catwalks are fun!! Should have gotten some det by now.

FYI

I have a par 12.5 head on my 14 pro. Ride 0-5000. Not much riding below 1800 just road or trail to the mountains. Comp test at sea level I'm at 147 and 148 psi. Thought I would need to add some ave or race fuel. Because of the high compression. But no just 91 none èth shell gas. If I need to ride sea level for a bit I just put it in eth mode tell higher up. Not one problem. Also have MDS weights that are heal heavy and that may help out.
