HPE Fuel Filter

I know there has been lots of talk about fuel filters. I purchased an SPI filter for my PRO-R 600 and it was the wrong one and now working on getting that taken care of. My Pro RMK needs to be changed as well and that still has warranty. I am thinking of putting the HPE on as it is less than 1/2 the price. My only worry was if something happen and then they say it is from the filter and won't stand behind the warranty but then I guess I could send it to HPE.

Anyone running one of their filters? Seem like a good part? Any problems?

Thanks!!

Thought I'd throw it out there: HPE (Hi Performance Engineering) carries the filter. Cross reference for their part #241-207 matches OEM 2521095 (Polaris). $42.95 list. It's not on their site yet that I can find, but I called to order and this is the info needed. Note the part I refer to is for the 2011-2012 Pro RMK/Assault.

Anybody got the part numbers for the 2013 800 Pro RMK fuel filters from HPE and Polaris and the prices?? thanks for any help.

Gamma Catalog page 630... Polaris #2521095= Garmma #680-1011-$59.99

The part listed is for the 2011-2012 Pro RMK/Assault only. 2013 is a different part # from Polaris than the 2011-2012 models.

Polaris part number for the 2013 Pro fuel filter assembly is: 2521189
Polaris part number for the 2011-2012 Pro fuel filter assembly is: 2521095

There is another thread floating around talking about SPI coming out/working on a 2013+ fuel filter assembly.

I've just called High Performance Engineering (HPE)...They have plenty in stock

Part number 241-207 (not listed on their website)

HPE: (800) 451-5268

Be advised that if you use SPI's filter that it is for PUMP GAS only. Slash on here was having fuel delivery issues and found that AV gas (race gas included) was causing the tubing inside the hose to expand thus restricting fuel flow. SPI confirmed this problem and the packaging should state PUMP GAS ONLY.

PM Slash if you want in regards to this issue.

Is the HPE filter and SPI?

Good find on the 11-12 filter assembly.

I put something together from HPE's 900 RMK filter last year.
$21 for the HPE filter+hose
plus
$31 for the correct fuel injection hoses and clamps to make it work for the 11 Pro RMK
----
~$63 after tax/shipping; still a helluva lot cheaper than the Pol part...

So that 11-12 specific filter+hose is a pretty good deal, and much simpler for the end user.

Do you think a gallon of av gas mixed with pump gas would cause a problem?

Wouldn't know, I don't run AV or race gas as I don't need it. Slash did all the work/research, I just passed on the info. PM him and ask.

As to the other ???, HPE gets the filters from WPS or SPI. I have 2 more kits for my '09 that I got from HPE and the bag says SPI.

Probably not. Race gas has more aromatics which are really strong solvents and causes the issues with plastic fuel components. Small blends should be fine but I've trashed my share of filters using straight race gas and don't plan on buying any HPE/SPI filters anytime soon. :face-icon-small-hap

Have FUN!
