How's Buff. Pass???

Both Kremmling and Walden are at least another hour farther east of Steamboat coming from Utah but both offer less expensive lodging.
North Park Inn in Walden is owned and opperated by avid sledders.
Kremmling to Buff is a bit of a drive.
The road to the parking lot for buff is a gravel/dirt road and is a bit narrow in places. Also the parking is limited. They will ticket if you park in the wrong spots.
The road to the top of buff can be really crappy early season on both east and west sides.
I don't think Planet Power Sports will have Colorado permits. I'm not sure, sorry.

Planet Powersports in Steamboat does have permits, both Colorado resident and non-resident. For colorado resident, you have to fill out a form which is good for 60-days while you're waiting on the decal. The non-resident decals they give you on the spot.

Its called deep on buff today. It was actually deeper around rocky flats= fresh up to waist deep, and then knee deep at the summit towers. Visability was bad because it was snowing really hard. Not bad for the 5th of December. The towers are reading 4 feet for the base.

I'm gonna go head up tomorrow. Anybody wanna meet? Just a mellow ride cuz I'm taking my 4 yr old, but it would be nice to have some company in case something happened.

did you make it up there today pj?

Pj - just was curious if you made it up to Buff. Pass today. If so, how is the snow. We are leaving on Wed next week to come out there. Just want to make sure it's worth the trip.

There was 3-4' around the Dumont Lake area and I couldn't touch ground at places on Buff Pass. I am assuming 4-8' feet, I didn't much feel like digging a big azz hole to find out but my sled dug a pretty deep one! There seemed to be at least 24" new today. If we get another foot or so this next week it'll be awesome. Still gotta watch out for some larger rocks and stumps though. There was a guy that bent an A-arm today.

Rode out of the Muddy Creek lot today. Godd snow but still early, lots of hard stuff just under the snow. We hit our fair share today, brother bent an A-arm. We didn't see a soul out there today, that makes blue sky and fresh pow that much better!

That must have been you PJ, the dude runnin around in the parking lot on the Ski Doo?
