How to test stator on 07m1000

Sled was running fine and up and quite. Pulls over with no spark. Started checking wires, grounds etc and all looks ok. Just trying to check the stator. Does anyone know for sure how to check the stator/coil charge assembly. I think I have checked it right but just want to make sure. I am checking the resistance at the 3 wire connector near the recoil. Have checked the charge coil #1 circuit(black/red and green/red wires) and found OPEN. Checked charge coil #2 circuit(brown/white and green/red wires) and had resistance of 8 ohms which I believe is ok. So I am suspecting charge coil #1 is my concern with it being OPEN? Anyone else run into the same concerns? Also have read that you can get the stators rebuilt? Any around Alberta do that?? Thanks in advance.

It sounds like a wiring harness issue. The 07/08 m sleds had some problems with the wiring harnesses. The best way to diagnose your problem is to check all of your resistance readings for the stator. A local friendly dealer will be able to give you these. If it is your stator, they are pretty easy to get to. Remove your exhaust, recoil, and the bracket that is bolted to your flywheel. Then use a flywheel puller to pull the flywheel off. Be careful not to run the three bolts on the puller in to far or they will hit the stator. Then just pull the flywheel off and you are there. Like I said it sounds like a wiring harness though. I have seen a couple dozen wiring harnesses and not a single stator failure. Good luck!

Sounds like charge coil 1 has gone bad, accordingly to the service manual it should be the same as charge coil 2.
7.20-10.8ohm.
