How do you tell when the bearings and seals in the center of the turbo are worn out? I have a 2009 boondocker TM8 with 4000mi running 10-12 psi and am just curious if this is something I need to consider replacing this summer. Sled is running well, but i can feel a slight amount of play on the compressor wheel and I usually have to add a few ounces of turbo oil ever 2-3 rides and the filter stays pretty wet with oil about 3 inches up. Tank is the non-vented style. Will a vented tank increase the longevity of the turbo?

the turbo is fine, the vented tank should help, as it heats up it makes pressure and will burn off a little in the turbo.. nothing to worry about.

the turbo's are designed to last 10's of 1000's of miles. as long as you keep em oiled up and nothing to big flys through them they should easily outlast the sled.
