How to sell things in the snowest swapmeet

Everyone has there own way of "listing" the things they are selling, I guess it depends on if you want to sell it or just have it for sale.

Here are a few pointers for those of you who would rather actually sell these items.....

1. Give all the info you can....dont just write 1999 RMK 700....list everything about it.

2. Post a pic....actually don't even post your add unless you have a pic, the first response to every add with out a pic is...."do you have any pics"....ya I know it looks like a 99 RMK 700, but if you were going to marry a 23 year old chick don't you think you'd want to see a pic...as we all know, they vary greatly....

3. List your city and state, because the second reply will be "where are you located"...

4. List a price...because the third reply will be "how much"

5. Make sure you leave your contact info, phone number and or email address...obviously being able to contact you is important.

6. Last and most important...check back on your add, and for christ sake people respond to the questions people ask, if you don't want people asking questions then don't list the item for sale....

You can always let us know where your from by putting your location in your avitar-user name??? Dino

I'll will play the other side of this issue. I have some parts listed in the swapmeet with what I think is a resonable orginal price or best offer, a reduced price, pictures and the where I live is in my profile. So tire kickin peps respond to your ad with I am interested pm me, email me, ect. I have responded to all of them. I have now experinced days of silence! Any positive suggestions welcome.

And the biggest reason things dont sell is price. Price it right and it will be gone. I have sold many items and bottom line is it comes to price.

And just put your location in your profile, then peeps will know where you live anyway. If you dont want people to know, then I dont want to buy from you.

I agree. Dino

Swapmeet should not allow a post unless it meets the following minimum:
1.) detailed description
2.) photos
3.) location
4.) contact information of phone and email
5.) price

this would not only make the whole thing more user friendly but you would have happier sellers and buyers.

and if your 05 900 rmk has broken crap on it ........say it does.:)

Here's another I'd like to add- if someone responds to your ad asking a question, take the 15 seconds and send them a reply, even if all it says is "sold." I friggin' HATE it when I send someone a message asking for more info or if an item is still available and never hear anything back.

May have been said already, but it can't be said enough....

Accurately describe what your selling and send the person what they bought, or at least thought they bought.

I just bought a track from a guy and he had it advertised as a 151 x 2.25, I get it and it's only a 2". Don't imagine a 1/4" is going to get me any more stuck, but it's the idea of listing it as one thing and delivering something different.
