how to override the Key?

I have an 07 M8 and I could use some Detroit tech.

I lost my key over the summer and ordered a new one from Arctic Cat ($10.!) which just arrived. Alas it's the wrong key. I have tried simply connecting the two wires but that does not work.

Any suggestions for a work around?

two types of systems a open to run and a closed to run so jump it to make it run or just pull of one wire of the key switch and give it a go. O don't forget to check the kill switch too.

you can override it with a tether.

just unplug it that all you should have to do to override it.

Otherwise theres a letter or number code on the ignition, find the letter or number, and thats the key you need.. Or give the dealer your VIN number, and they should be able to contact cat and get the RIGHT key!!

It's an open to run on the 07, closing it will shut it off. Just take the wires off the ignition and you should be good to go.
