How to fix damaged rail

Probably gonna buy your part anyway, but upon closer closer inspection found some more damage to the rails. Small crack in middle and the busted suspension bolt has wore a 2mm hole into the inside of the rail.

A replacement set of rails might be just over the horizon....

Mental note, make sure all bolts/nuts are tight after every couple of rides!!

Well even if you end up replacing your rails later, you can put this kit to the new ones so the same thing doesn't happen to them. ps don't get me wrong rails can be weld repaired they just need to be re-heat treated back to T6.

My welder buddy doesnt work with Aluminium much and said that yeah the heat treated stuff can get a bit complicated.

I was quoted (incorrectly im sure) $220CAD for a set of 2 rails brand new (im sure its 220 each) but I will probably be selling the thing at the end of this season. I dont want to, but I probably wont be here next winter so ill end up selling it. 8(

Looks nice and strong, cant wait to test er out!!

Sweet, got them on, looks nice and strong. Found a washer that fit perfectly into that worn away hole. How tight should I be tightening the main bolt and also the 4 little nut and bolts? I have a torque wrench. I just dont wanna snap the bolt. Done that a couple times to my car, its a PITA. :)

Have to mention that the setup looks nice and strong and only costs about the same as the stock parts put together anyway. Was good dealing with CatFix, Id recommend this part (so far) if you have a similar issue with your cat. He sent them out the day I bought them and I recieved them 3 days later (US to Canada). No complaints at all!!
