How can we determine which year/ version of the 800r is in a 07 xrs? Has a part # tag on it that says 005403590 but that doesnt seem to work as a skidoo#. Is there a way to visually tell a 08 or earlier from a 09 and newer? Thanks in advance. Always get good answers on snowest!

first look where the rubber torque stop hits the case. Are there threaded holes there? RevRider posted a very good analogy of determining year of the 800r Motor

my posting on this was on dootalk, but doesn't get any more clear than that! As bob said though, there will be treads in the case where that tourque stop hits the case. They are almost all the way covered, you only see a little of the upper corner of the hole.

hope that helps,

lefty

brp replaced some off the early 07s with the crank problem with short blocks, the replaced ones had a "R" stamped where the rubber engine stop hits but had no holes like the 08,there is no crank issues with the ones with the R. they where still selling these in 09 I bought one and it had no holes

" Treads" as in Threads? Or a cross hatch pattern of some sort? Am curious because am looking at a couple 07's.
