How things have changed.....

I'm 6-2 and when I'm jumping around all over my sled zig and zagging through the steep & deep I like my hand it tight and the bar riser approx at 4" where I still feel I have the most leverage and control. When I'm up any higher the geometry of the sled feels completed different.

Who knows, I may end up putting the 8 inch risers back on. We'll see how it works out once the snow flies.

My sled had 6 inch risers when I bought it and they were too short. I then went to 8 inch and they were better, but I was still hunched over a bit. They still seemed somewhat awkward. It was manageable, but I still felt that a couple more inches would be better.

I'm hoping that the 10 inch risers will allow me to stand upright with a slight bend in my arms. But it may end up being too much of a good thing. Time will tell.

The adjustable post ala Cat is great. I wish it was a bit less sloppy judging from the few I've ridden, but the idea is excellent.

I'm 6'2" with long legs and long arms. I have ProRMK with the stock ProTapers. Because of the Craz of lower bars I decided to leave it stock for the 1st 1/2 of the season. I could not take it any more and purchased a 2" Powermadd block riser. I ended up setting it up on the mill and took a 1/2" off of it. I now have been riding it that way for a couple of seasons. 1.5 riser on the pro with protapers is the most comfortable and give me the most control over my riding. Once in a while I jump on a sled with higher bars and it is still comfortable but when I ride my buddies with lower bars my back and legs end up hurting from always squatting and bending down to reach the lower bars.

I think the low rise is a fad b/c Brent Rasmussen has preached the low rise. And a low rise is fine for a short guy.

Me, I'm about 6'3 and most of my riding is standing up. Thus I like my rise where I can stand comfortable; which is arms just slightly bent when hands on the handle bars. Up to high and my shoulder's start to hurt...too low and it kills my back.

I do like the telescopic steering on the Cats, wish the Pro would incorporate this as it really is a good idea.

don't worry about wyo boy he probably out preparing his sled so he can ride it to its absolute potential , unlike all us losers:face-icon-small-win

I'm running a 6" riser on my std rmk. Equivalent to a pro rmk with pro tapers and 2" riser. Fits my needs perfect. I'm 6'3" and never giving up my tall risers.
