how tall of risers

You need to ask yourself if you really do need a 6" riser. I am 6'0" and I have a 8", I wish I had a 4" somedays.

If you havent rode the sled yet, I would ride it first and then you would get a better idea of how tall you wanna go :)

im 6'2" and have a 8" XP riser w 2" rise in my Pro Taper Carmichael bars
its sweet

i have a stock x package 5" riser for sale if you want one

If you do decide to extend your throttle cable I would suggest getting a whole new longer cable rather than buying just the cable extension that powermadd makes. I went through 4 or 5 of the powermadd ones before I got wise and bought an extended length cable from Gravity Worx Racing. Now I just have to get off of my arse and install it.

but i want 6" risers:light:

I have a ZX Summit as well - what about the sled makes you want 6" over 2"? I've not ridden mine (just got it), and it certainly _seems_ like a riser might make it more familiar (more like my motorcycles), but without riding it, it is tough to say.

What do you think you'll gain by adding another 4"?

For what it is worth, from using the "search" tool here and on dootalk.com, the ZX Summit will take about 4" without extenders. Maybe 5" with re-routing, but 4" is the largest I consistently found where the posters said they did not need to mess with cables/hoses/wires.

Curious what it is you're trying to gain - thanks!

I had a 02', I ordered the MXZX 440 racing extension, which I believe to be 4 or 5 in. With no mods to the brake or throttle cable. And it was plenty. But some people like them longer. Just my thoughts.

i mostly stand when i ride, soo with the 2" risers on it now i have to hunch over a little, and i dont like that it hurts my back. with 6' risers on it, there will be a lot less strain on my back and it will give me more leverage when carving

Ok I thought you just got this sled. How many times have you rode it? And 6 foot of rise would look alittle funny. Your back won't hurt but I bet your arms will.:D

I'm 6'3" and I have 8" with flat summit X bars on my old 02 800 summit. Perfect height but I put in a longer steel braided brake line, and a throttle cable extension. I had no problems with either but I had to cut all my other wires and splice in sections to make the electrical wires fit. If you're over 6' go with a riser for sure, it's easier on your back and you get WAY less fatigued, especially if it's a bumpy ride up the trail.
