How not to...

stop a piece of hardwood from launching into the neighbours house when the table saw kicks back.

It's OK I have a lefty throttle.

Nice.

My dad had a dry upturned tree root go into his thumb-web past fall while getting out an elk. It was NASTY!!!!!!!!

He never stopped working and I grabbed the piece and yanked it out with the leatherman. It was the size of his pinky.

Happened in here somewhere....

Taken at the ER...he needed some stitches but I don't think they gave him any if I remember right.

I was going to take a picture of it when it happened but I was feeling a bit queezy when I looked and saw the bones. I had to load up a tablesaw and 12inch compound mitre saw plus clean up the job site so I could go to the hospital. Then I decided I couldn't leave the tools in the truck so I drove home from Calgary dropped them off at the shop and went to urgent care in Okotoks. I'm sure that was quicker than trying the emergency ward in Calgary. I'd probably still be there.

jeez Dave, that has to hurt

did you lose the safety fence on your table saw? I have an extra one from a 5 year old table saw, never used

Believe it or not that was fricken WORK. 3 of us chainsaw winched them up the ridge through the old burn....you know what old burns look like. Downfall up the wazzu. LOL

We worked for two days to get those 3 elk out of there. And they each only had to go a few hundy yards.

Some guards may have been removed for clarity purposes. Mine has a nice bracket on the side to hold the guard. I'm not sure even how to install it.:o

And Scott...that sounds like a lot of work for a piece of meat. I'll stick with the butcher up the street.:face-icon-small-hap

Man we are getting messed up with this "Forum" thing. So now when disaster strikes the first thing that seems to come to mind is, "I have to remain conscious and get a picture....the guys on the Forum are love this"! :beer;:D:beer;
Dam that looks nasty. Bright side....two inches off and it could have been your radial artery. Speedy Recovery :beer;
