how much voltage you get to play with?

hello,
i was wondering how much the regular 12v voltage regulator will allow you to harness before it underpowers your fuel pump/headlight and standard electronics needed to run the sled properly. last thing i want to do is create a lean burn down by the fuel pump not having enough juice!

will a 12v dc fan that draws .40 amps be drawing too much for the stator/regulator that comes stock on a 2010 m8?

nudge

nudge, anyone else have a lead dog or helmet defroster that might be able to see the nameplate and how much it draws?

I see where your going with this and it seams like a excelant idea :D I would think you would be alright. On the 07-08 sled the dc motor to switch the diamond drive in and out of reverse pulls a lot more, so much it dims the lights so I would think a dinky little computer fan or a couple of them would be ok. Give it a try I've got a special one with blue flashing LEDS sitting here to just trying to find a good home, I could do without the LEDS but O-well :)

lol

yup your thinking excatly right, im going to mount two of them one on each side of my gauges. and i too have a few with LED's left over from when i used to build/sell liquid cooled/modded out computers lol.....

good call! lol

i also have a few rheostats for controlling the speed of the fans/led brightness.

i didnt think a couple 80mm small computer fans would be enough to hurt anything.

i would assume the headlights would dim if it was drawing enough to worry about, if there still bright i would assume i would be okay?

anyone elses expierence/imput on this is always appriciated!
