How much does it cost?? Take a look!!!!!!

To ride your sled, o.k I was wondering how much it cost's you guys per mile/km to ride. Add the cost of sled what you put on for it, add in operational costs gas include (truck)/oil/belts repairs and oh Mods divide by mileage I think you might sh!t your self.

Your right

But I shudder to think how much $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ it has cost me to be married to the same woman for 25 years,.............but I wouldnt trade it for anything else. And so its the same for my sledin habit. Dino

(the cost of my sled+fuel(only for the sled)+maintence)/miles put on sled=$8 per mile
((total of above)+cost of fuel for truck)/miles put on sled=$10 per mile

THe longer I own the sled the more the price will go down. I have only owned the sled for 1 yr now.

do you have a sled and ride yourslef? it might cost alot but its all worth it when you sitting at the top of a hill or doing a highmark or just cruzen with the guys down the ditch or all the fun you have drinken a few beers and fixen or mod your sled with your buds

Are you counting everything? Cost of tow rig, trailer fuel to get to the mountain and all othe expenses? I would say about 125 dollars a mile

Last year, First ride

Sled $11,700
Air fare to my sled $1500
Fuel for truck $100
Fuel for sled $35
Gallon of oil $35
Hotel for 3 nights $600
Food at lodge $250
Bar tab $150
Airport parking $65

Let my friend ride it 10 miles, I rode it 2 miles and found a rock $1500

Total $15900 for 2 miles = $7950.00 a mile

Worth every dime!!

I flew out once or twice a month to ride, This season I plan to be back so all I have to do is load up and go

all i know is that if i were to put snowmobiling or rideing in the sand in to a dollar value it would still be worth it.......although i look around at the money that the guys that play in the sand spend for 2 to 3 big weekends a year mine is like chump change how many of us have sleds that cost 100k...........and thats for a long travel buggy.......

Over the past 6 years i have kept track and it averages just under $3 per mile of riding. That does not include the initial buy in of the sled, trailer or truck. That figure is for gas, oil, belts, taxes and registration fees, routine maintenance and repairs. IMHO its a rediculously expensive sport that I refuse to give up!

I would not even have wanted to think about it the cost per mile, per kid, my wife. They all cost way, way too much. they say it costs $300,000 to raise a kid till 18. That $1388 per month, I have two $2776!...I need to drink more.

I don't want to figure mine out, although I am sure its cheaper than lots of you guys.
I am afraid my old lady will see how much it costs and not let me do it any longer.

come on now i am a mechanic its not the same working on toys thats fun.......and as far as money is concerned i have a never ending supply its called a POWERSTROKE...
as long as ford keeps making them i will never be out of a job................
