How much boost?

How high has anyone really turned up an M8 turbo. I have an '09 running the OVS race gas kit, and I put it up to 15 a couple of times. How high do you dare go????? No bull loney please

I thought I heard freak was running his at like 18 last year but I'm not positive.

I seen boondockers 903 BB based off the 800 mill cranked up to 22lbs! Ran rediculously fast... over and over agin! Pretty impressive!!

correct me if I'm wrong, but elevation and quality of gas makes a big difference.

Nope, not at all......

J/K I don't think I can afford or find gas that would allow me to pull more than 15 lbs around here.

I ran 14# @ 9K ft. on 112 sonoco last year and plan to hit 16-18 this year with better fuel. I seen Shain run 18# last year on his TM1200. Wicked fast:D

10-15 on mine last year, 12 seemed to be a nice number for what i was running...changing a couple things this year

I was usually at about 13 last year, but I loved it at 15. I've been burning Sunoco 110 and haven't had any detonation since dialing it in. I have heard of over spinning the turbo w/ too much boost. I mean do you worry more about your motor or your blower at 18+????

We ran 13 lbs with 2-3 gal of 111 at 11k feet with no problems.
13.75 was the limit for that mix at our altitude, I'm not willing to waste more money on race gas, so 13ish will have to do.

Boost numbers without altitude are useless.

Jensen, how high are you? That's some heavy duty octane!!!

Btw, how many of you are making a point of running non-ethanol fuel, and how big a difference do you feel it makes in how far you can push the boost?
I can get non ethanol, but it's 20 min the wrong way compared to 2 min to my local truck stop which has fresh fuel but with ethanol.

I usually ride between 8-12k. I don't like taking chances and it seems to be working good for me.

heard over the last year they are allowing up to 15% ethanol in gas, which pretty much means lower octane. More water bonds better to ethanol than to gas, this way they can produce a lower grade fuel with the same octane rating. Ethanol fuels break down a lot faster and burn at different temps. I can tell the diff on my NA sled so it should be more important with boost.

Yessir, I've seen a LOT of smaller boats and sea-doo's with tons of problems because they fill up at gas stations on the trailer. Marina and on-water fuel stations don't have ethanol in their fuels.

So with boost, at altitude, I think that if you can get ethanol free fuel, do it!
