How many people have hit a tree this season?

Hit my first tree ever today:eek: luckily I was going relatively slow (15-20 mph?), so it was only cosmetic damage, and was able to continue the days ride:D with only my pride being hurt.

It's funny, those trees don't get out of the way at the last second... they're so inconsiderate!

I ran over one, got stuck on it and then when I lifted my sled over (helmet off)it sprang back and hit me in the face so hard it knocked the taste out of my mouth! Almost cried, dribbled in my under armor a little.

I could tell you.. I would have to kill you!.. cause the greenies would probably hunt me down if they knew the jackpines I have killed.. haha :D

Hit my first tree after riding for some 30 years. Just bought a boosted yami with a 162 track. First complaint is the handling. Point it up and its the best. Anything else you can have it.
Head over heels 3 times with a gainer down the groomed trail. How embarrasing. I felt like a idiot. Let off the gas coming into the turn and it just tracked straight. Just like a sprint car. 4 stroke is definitely different to drive, as I am finding out. I use to race a built yzf 426 in a Outlaw Kart and had to carry gas to turn it also.
Oh well your not alone in this one. I am pretty sore. Will not let that happen again. I hope....
Have you heard anything about the simmions gen 2 skis that are 10"? Thinking about trying them. Might help with the heavy front end.

my bad

a couple small trees nothin to worry about, found a really nice big b e a utiful rock last week though left side both a arms shock and steering rod, it happens :beer; the simmons ski is still in good shape :D

Just to let you all know what "relatively" slow is, I was doing about 15-20 mph, when I apparently missed the turn:(

^^^ MarkD, that really stinks :(

well so far i hanvt hit any trees this year...knok on wood( no pun intended lol) but we have wasted one sled on a big stump and took out the whooe front end and today the same guy's kid was side hillin across a bowl and found a boulder just under the snow the size of a car and threw him over the bars and threw him 20 ft. down the hill! bent it up a little but hurt his pride a little more.

Last year on my old 81 citation 400, I was riding with a my neighbour and his friend, my neighbour and I had children doubling on our sleds...

His friend cut in front of me, and he likes to go slow, so we got to a small field... neighbour went right, friend went left, I cut through the middle to catch up to the dad... give her.. and I saw a tree.. for a split second... didn't even get a chance to think about brakes... thump.. it was gone... was about 2" in diameter, but about 50-75ft tall... I went back the next day during the light to look at it.

No damage to the sled...

My wife hit a tree, sorta her first ride.. she went off the path, was dodging trees trying to get back up on the path.. and a tree took her out so she rolled off the sled and then the sled ever so gently kissed a tree.. like it would have stopped 1/8" past where it did stop due to the tree.

so you know as soon as you get your sled out of the truck and you get a little stupid. well we downloaded my buddies mountain max and i ran it around the parking lot but only had mittens not gloves so when i got on the gas and went to get off the mitten was pinched and it stayed wide open and plowed into a tree. haha like 40 seconds off of the trailer. i dont forget gloves any more.

Those Doo-doos sure are tree magnets, and we have documented proof of that. ^^^

I have hit a tree or two in the past, no major damage, just a broken hood and pride, but last year my father-in-law put his 800 mt. cat into a tree up at Vinegar and pretty much wiped the sled out!

This year, both my buddies (Big Nick and Little Nick) have put their M-Cats into a tree. The M-7 (Little Nick's) broke the bolt that ties the ski's together with the stearing arm and (Big Nick)on his M-8 hit the only tree on the hill he was side hilling up at Halfway and just broke his bumper.

Not sure how he pulled this one off , but it was funny as H3LL!
