How many days you ride on a trip out west

I plan to go West next year for a few days trip. My question is for how many consecutives days someone could physically ride west? Do you guys take any day off with no riding because we ride backcountry here in Quebec and after a big storm (for here, 18 inch of powder with a 5-6 ft base) riding hills under powerline yeaterday, I found myself busted and all of my body worn out for today. Ride had and get stuck-unstuck many times . I will probably ride hard tomorow too but today's break is a welcome one. I question myself going for a 6-7 days trip out west and don't have the physical condition to ride more than a day on two?

I go on two 6 day trips a year. I find I ride pretty well for about 5 but by day 6 I can barely rope my sled. Of course I am constantly riding and have very little stop time. I also pull everybody out! I figure it is the best riding out of the year for me, so I push it hard each day. I would love to several shorter trips (3 days) but the price of fuel and everybodys schedule shoots that down.

For me it depends on the time of the year. First trip west I usually just ride for 2 days to get the muscles somewhat back into shape. Usually that is fine as it is thanksgiving and snow aint the best at that time. All trips after that are 3 days riding. Seems to be about perfect for the groups I go with.

Seems like everyone is shot after 3 consecutive days of hard riding. Altough the liquid courage and hot tub does help alot after a good hard day of riding.

Annual 14 day trip with 12 consecutive days of mountain sledding

day 3 and 8 are the worst.....after that everything is numb and the vicodine flows like lave from Mt Vesuvius.

How do you keep your sled running for that many days?

hey,

i live out west, most consecutive days ive done is 12, getting started in the morn is the hard part, once u start riding it gets better quickly,

lots of 3-4 days in a row.

eat lots of good food, and lots of water, and yeah bring a spare sled lol.

4 days of riding!! Leave after work on Wednesday drive 16 hrs ride all day Thursday-friday-saturday-sunday then leave for home and work monday!! Some people think I am crazy all for the love of the sport!!!Heading out for fourth trip this year next wednesday!!

I usually ride 3 days the first trip, and 4-5 the next 2-3 trips, works well for me. I know guys in togwotee that ride 29-30 days a month though, and they call it working:face-icon-small-hap

Cooke in 8 days:cheer2:

I'm sure that this morning I could had more energy if I was on the mountain for the trip of my life once a year. The first mile must be the toughest one. If only the rockies were only 16 hours from Quebec....

Depends on weather and snow conditions alot, and if your stuck alot and digging everyone else out too. Keeping up in the day is only half of it. Its keeping up with everyone at night too, then back to riding in the morning is what kills me.

Our trips usually turn into a drunkfest, then ride hard all day, and drink again half the night. When I go home, its usually time. After a week, my kidneys are usually bleeding and its best to just go home.

However if I am home and its bluebird and deep, I will go as many times as possible till the weather changes. I live to sled when I can.

Our trip this year consisted 6 1/2 days for riding. Have 24+ hour drive time one way that takes alot outta of ya tho...

Ive been on 5 trips this year and we usually go for 2-3 days. Its hard to go much longer having school to deal with for me and families and work for the older guys. Im usually a little sore after the first day or two, especially when i bang up a knee on a jump or falling off, but loosen up as soon as I hit the throttle.

Rode Steamboat for 7 days this year, heading out west next week for 3 days of riding. Anually we take a 7-9 day trip which includes 2 days of driving west, depending on how far we go.

For me it depends on how many trips previously. The first trip or two I am pretty dead after the 2nd day of riding and push the 3rd day. After that I wish my trips could last longer then the 3/4 days of riding. Work seems to get in the way of riding any longer.

I had a blast riding in after another storm that dumped 18 inch for the second time this week and wind loaded the slope even more (that's really good for us on the east coast). 2 days on 3, the second ride was not as hard as I tought so I think I could handle a 4-5 days trip west next year. I plan to book with Mom's motorsport to have me and my sled hauled west for a reasonnable price. Any of you midwestern guys had ever ride with them?
