How Many BLOWN Silber Kits???

I had two pumps go down last year just bad luck I guess. Justin was really good about it and covered both oil pumps and turboes.

Aero chargers sure work nice and clean

They are, but when they $hit the bed, and they do, it's $2g to rebuild. They are also not as efficient and create more heat than a Garrett. There is a reason that OVS and a couple other turbo places went away from them. Low boost applications, they are ok.

I sell about 10 oil pumps a week to guys with silber kits. I have yet to have one of my custom made pumps go down. Not saying that one won't but we have been using them since 2009

Is this the pump you are referring to? http://www.turboboyz.com/catalog/product.php?id_product=267

A few questions about your pump:

- Amp draw?(please indicate weight of oil, temp., & pressure at turbo)
- Weight of actual pump?

From the pictures it looks like a scavenge pump found on other boosted applications but still should provide better performance than the Walbro based on port size alone.

Thanks,

Glen

I think you better have have numbers to back your clame, never seen no Garrett outperform the aero yet... And you numbers for cramping out and repair are also out to lunch, maybe try one before commenint:face-icon-small-coo

Ive ridden both back to back. No comparison top end on a Garrett is stronger than a Aero. I rode a HM sled and it was a great setup, but its not a Garrett. If you want proof call Aerocharger and ask then straight out..

Maybe you should go grab some lunch, do some more research. There isn't any comparison unless you are trying to compare low boost setups. An it does cost twice the $ to replace a aero vs Garrett.

I have. Way back in '08 on an M8. It was an ok setup but not on par with a Garrett. Do they work? Sure they do. Just don't believe they are the best setup out there. You will need 3-4 more pounds of boost out of the Aero to equal a Garrett.

Fred, r u still on ur lunch break? How many aero sled motors have u seen put out 300 ponies or better yet 400.

No need for three hundred hp, try a two stroke at 8 lbs... Garrett and aero amd get back to me on performance

Why do you think aero has out sold Garrett on the two strokes... Because they work plane and simple

Turbo

Do u have any facts to back up your claim? Aero out selling garret? I don't think so. Is that why every major manufacturer uses garret?

Fred, aero's r gay, r you? Lol couldn't help it lol

I bet your statement is wildy incorrect. Not the part about working but the part about outselling traditional turbos on two strokes.

Ill bet there's more mitsubishi turbos spooling up on sleds this year than areos

boyko, rode with one all weekend,,( brand x ) he needed 13 psi to to stay even in sight of me at 8 psi , cooked his reeds sat by mid day.. put another set in the oven for sunday.. poor guy. now he wants to swap.. had enough..

still , funny to have them around for laughs. Now that mitsu comment.:rant:

Its to bad that some can not figure out what melting there reads must be some gremlins in the throttle bodies with blow torches.

This is why I don't run more than 8psi, Never put on more than 1500 miles on a kit before selling the sled and have never replaced a set of reeds

My other comment was aimed at the Yamaha guys running Swedish boost, there are still boosted RX1 bombing around out there see them for sale all the time aswell.

Now that I have gotten rid of almost all of the silber parts and put a vipec box on I think it will run and not blow the motor up. Got different turbo, new oil pump (not warrantied from Justin), Used the dobeck box for target practice and installed vipec. Tested yesterday at 1000ft ran great. heading west to test tomorrow??
