Wondering how many silber kit owners have had the oil pumps quit and ruin the turbos? Had two of my friends have this problem. Shaft is so loose the intake charge turbine is rubing the housing. Sleds both had under 100 miles on them.

yep i had one. 13 kit. lasted maybe 400 miles. no warranty, no nothing. cory got me a new pump and turbo quick(so thats cool). but it still cost a **** pile of money. not real pumped about the play in the brand new one i got. seams a bit sloppy, little nervous to put it on. may just sell off the kit.

Journal bearings are supposed to have a little play. The shaft rides on a film of oil. The ball bearings are tighter. I would not have sent a turbo with an issue. Put it on and let er rip!

What kind of oil pump you have now? The last call to Justin that was made to ask him about the oil pump quitting and the turbo going out he asked what type of gas he was running? HELLO! MICFLY!!

I know some of the pumps where not as good as the others. How do you tell if you have a good one or if you need a good one? I would buy one and replace if mine was one of the bad ones just not sure how to tell is there a model number or a pic we can see.

I sell about 10 oil pumps a week to guys with silber kits. I have yet to have one of my custom made pumps go down. Not saying that one won't but we have been using them since 2009

I was one of the ones that lost a turbo last season. Cory got me up and running again in no time.

You want the Walbro that came in the older kits and new kits but not the junker that came in the 13 kit...

I lost mine last yr. on a 13 kit. once again corey steped up. But she aint going back on. oh an I was running around 3 gal race gas if that makes a difference...

If you would have been running 50/50 mix you would have been fine. More race fuel would have not take out the flux capacitor which runs the oil pump that keeps the turbo HAPPY! HAPPY!

I didn't know of this issue. I'm glad someone came forward with the info. Is the turbo being warrantied for this failure? Is Silber changing out pumps for those that have the wrong one? I'll check which one I have tonight.

No.... But he did give me a better price on the pump to upgrade it... Nor sure why the change was done but Justin did come to me to let me know that there could be issues with the pump on my 13 kit and if I wanted to upgrade. For the price it was a no brainer if it saves my turbo..

There is no wrong pump. He did warranty all the failures the first year. The pump used in 13 is the same pump used in many kits. They just didn't have the same excellent durability so he switched back.
