How low can drivers be

Hey guys, I'm building a cross over sled designed for 80% hard pack 20% off trail. If there is more than a foot or two of fresh I'll ride a mountain sled instead.

With that in mind if my drivers hang down a couple inches below the tunnel would if matter if I'm never in more than two feet of snow?

I'm trying to maximize clearance between the track and tunnel without opening my wallet for an extended chaincase. The center of the drive shaft would be about 1" above the bottom of the tunnel as is.

It's more about the times your not in the deep and find a landmine. Low hangers will bend your driveshaft

Yep, been there & done that.
And the hardpack or low snow conditions only contribute to the likelihood of shaft damage.
