change it at least every year,I got caught in the back country and now i carry a spare,snap ring pliers,and misc. tools,and i check my tension after every ride,cheap insurance,and i use to change it every year when i ran t-cats
Thats because of cats chain tentioner or lack thereof just swings back and forth and SNAP pulled out a few T-cats with this problem...BTW still running the stock chain with 2700 klms and looks great with no(or very little side play)
