How long before RPM max's out?

For those of you that have more time on your sleds, how many hours did you have on the motor before your RPM maxed out? I have 6 hours on mine and my RPM is around 150 low in a deep powder climb. Just wondering if RPM will continue to increase on its own as I get more miles or if I should adjust the clutching now.

I've got the same exact issue as you going. I'm at about 8 hrs now I believe and more like 250 rpm's low on DEEP powder climbs. I'm at close to 10k ft regularly. I've started working on my clutching with Carl's; I'll keep you posted on how it works out and/or if the engine changes.

I'm at 25 hours now. Havent gained anything after 5-6 hours. Biggest gain is after the 2.5 hr mark and then once you get all the pre-mix out of the tank. Didnt notice anything at the 18 hr mark where it goes to normal oil injection ratio. Eric

Mine was pulling 7850- 7950 and was probably still below 7000 ft. Not even close to being up top where we ride at 9- 9300. It was on ethanol mode so I switched it and got it to hit 8050 when I held it a little longer. I'm not sure what is in it but I thought their clutching sucks. Really lazy about getting rpm up. No hours, no miles and really crappy snow but it should over review a hair down low. I always thought Polaris clutching was a little closer out of the gate. Took me about 11 miles to rip a chunk out of a lug and I put it away. We are finally starting to get snow. My track needs tightened. Sounded like it was balling up in front when I hit the brakes. When I turned mine left it had a little throttle run on at just above engagement when you let out of it. Slapped a tree because of it. Only to the left.

Terry, the first tank of fuel the sled is very lazy and the RPM will not be anywhere near what it will run at once you get all that pre-mix in the tank burned out and get past the 2.5hr mark.
Better check that throttle cable routing, something isnt right with that. Eric

Yeah eric, was kind of hoping you would answer on the clutching. I will have to wait until it is broke in. I may throw a pipe on it but am going to ride it stock for a few rides. I guess until I get a real ride I am not enthused about the power yet. I could tell the chassis was sweet. Did not see enough boulder safe snow to see any instantaneous lift.
As far as the cable routing i was so disgusted with the snow i just threw it back in the shop. Don't know if it's under the hood or involved with a handlebar bag. I told my buddy about it and then I pulled up in the trees to talk to him. I was just about to get off and it just went about a foot and slapped a tree. I said there you go and he said well that sucks. It is nothing out of hand so I didn't look at it on the mountain.

rode today. around 7000-8000 feet, 3.5 hours on it, pulled 68 gram MTX's 8300-8400 all other clutching and motor totally stock, I think it would be abit more snappy with a split helix in it, I have a few to try in it

We are at 3-6k running 68g mtx with 3G in bottom hole and 1g in tip. From the moment we hit the snow they would hit 83-85 and hold it. Rode up to 7k and would still hit 83+. This is in 1-1 1/2' of snow ( on trail ) no climbing yet too risky. This was on first ride and with extra oil in tank and running in eth mode. Sleds were quite crisp and power was way better than the 12 pros with head and can. About 3.5 hours on them now and they are just getting better. They pull hard all the way through. Very noticeable on top end. Cannot wait until next ride without all that extra oil and will switch to non-eth mode. Should be exciting. Couple more rides and hopefully enough snow to put them on a good climb and fine tune clutching. SLP pipe and can by the way. K-mod 37" kit on the way.

The one I have seemed broke in at 4.1 hrs. now have 5.5 hrs. on it now and put her on the load cell track dyno today. :face-icon-small-win

Mine was doggy for the first 2.5 hours and that first tank of oil rich fuel. Ever since then it has ripped right up to 8300 and holds it. I passed the 18 hr mark now and do not feel any difference from that though it does look like it used less oil. Bone stock, 10-13k feet.

Mine was never foggy- TPS was checked and spot on to spec ( from what dealer said) @ 19.7 hours on the clock- and re-clutched from 0 miles now close to 350- pulling custom cut Belly Busters and a team green primary spring- pulling 8350-8380 all day @ 10,000' plus ( have results in other threads)
Secondary needs attention- I feel also..
Oil consumption is less from initial running.
Fuel:face-icon-small-win !! Compaired to 2- 15 M8000 Cats and 2- Etec's
I get the BEST fuel mileage- generally 1.4 gallons better when we fuel the next morning-
Always have run in the 91 non-eth mode..

Loving the sled and the up on the snow jump.

yeah I really like the power of the new motor, my friend has 2013 slp stage 4 + and the axys is a stronger motor for sure, (back to back riding @ 7500') I also thing it needs a tad of secondary work, my thought is that they gave it a 40 straight so it basicly was not as snappy and would get up on the snow better with less trenching. :face-icon-small-dis

I was at about 8050-8100 during break in and literally IMEDIATELy when I hit 2.5 hours, I started hitting 8300 rpms and even 8400 a couple times. When I hit the 2.5 hour mark, i was riding down the road and thought "man, this sled is really running good today" looked down and it said 2.5 hours. It was definitely a noticeable difference. Love this sled.
