How is track height measured?

If a track is 1.25", does that mean that the paddles/lugs are 1.25", or does it include the thickness of the track?

What about pitch of a track? What determines that?

Don't take this for gospel but i think the pitch deals with the distance between the driver holes? center to center? Someone correct me if i'm wrong

pitch is center to center on lugs.

i have seen height on some style tracks seems to be from the base of the track( include thickness of track) and some that go from the top of the track up. maybe i just can read a tape measure, just not sure about that one.
