How do you get rid of the exhaust bog

Thanks for the reply. How is your sled for throttle crispness? I see you are in Montana also, ever get over to Lincoln or ride in the Belts? I would love to watch how your sled worked.

I'm in Kalispell. I have hit the Lincoln area a couple of times, but spend all my time here in the N.W. corner. Insane snow!!! and endless country. If you make it this way, let me know. We'll go for a rip. and yes, it's fun to watch! Super light sled with mege H.P. !!! Deep pow is where it is killer. Track speed between 70 and 80. On set-up snow you have so much more than you can use, all you do is pump the throttle to get around without being too insane. ha :face-icon-small-sho

I'm about the stroke of a pen away from doing the turbo--does anyone regret going Carb turbo? I think I can live w/ 4000' of adjustment w/ powejets. Any final thoughts, I just can't bring myself to go Cat or Polaris right now.

Give Bryce a call. He will take good care of you.
The carbed motor produces massive hp. There have been some post's here on "bog". I experienced a little as well in the beginning. It boils down to 3 likely causes. All 3 are simple to address. #1- Fuel management. Jet to be running in the 10's and 11's on your carb jets, and 12's on the power jets and WOT. #2- make sure you have an intake inside your hood, "as it comes", or if you mod a custom one. There cannot be any restriction on flow from snow or tubing, if you make something your self. Free access to all the air it can consume, un-restricted. and #3- Exhaust stuffing. I have installed a deflector in the stock location. You can also do a partial tunnel dump, or do a side pannel exit.
I made sure these 3 items were okay, and have zero bog. Deep pow, right hand side-hilling, deep downhill pow lines. It works excellent. :face-icon-small-hap

Hey guys thanks for the help. I am going to try the exhaust deflector first step. Then tape up some of the vents just to make sure that no snow is getting in. I run an air/fuel ratio gauge to tune off of. I have talked with Brice many times, and he has been a great help. If you are thinking of going with a turbo on the xp I would only use him. Great customer service. I don't know how you guys are getting 70-80 mph track speed. That will be the next step, after I get things running good now.

Thanks for the reply MTN Doo. That's what I wanted to hear--probably not what my other half wants me to tell her.

Had an amazing day on the Turboed 800R. Just a quick update. Some buddies on modded 174" sleds said they not only couldn't follow my sled, but they couldn't even poach my tracks and follow me!!! There is nothing that can Doo what a light weight boosted mountain sled can do. It's amazing!!!

To get that kind of track speed you need the entire package working for the common goal of "track speed". Your engine is first. Have the jetting dialed in for maximun clean horse power on about 12lbs boost. Then your focus can go to clutching, your skid for no cavitation in deep snow with all that power, and rotating efficiency of your track, rear wheels, and gearing. With everything working together, you will have mind-blowing track speed!!! :face-icon-small-sho

no bog in pow on my xp - paneled sled

mtn - doo is correct that high climbing track speed can be established on this frame and drivetrain

my secondary shifts all the way out on a climb in the deep stuff and I am geared for over 80 mph

no bog, no lag, no run on

1/4 throttle is all that is needed on most hills
