How do i test or clean injectors?

The best way is to remove them and take them to an automotive fuel injection (Injector) service facility. They can perform an ultra sonic laser clean with flow testing before and after. Most of the time, gains will be found as 2 stroke injector's can sometimes have premature carbon deposits. I typically pay $30-$50 per injector for this service.

You can perform a simple electrical ohm test on the injector first before the cleaning, however injectors rarely fail "electrically" before they get dirty and cause issues.

I've used Witch Hunter Performance (Clicky) in Bothell WA for my service... quick turnaround time and full report of the process.

With the CFi now going into its 7th year of production.... and the fact that not everone stores their sleds in the ideal situations.... and the crappy fuel and fuel filters used... I have a feeling that some good performance increases can be had from servicing dirty injectors.

the injectors are on the back of the motor do i have to pull the motor to get them out?? never worked on these before.

also if i take it to the dealer and get it hooked up to the computer can they diagnose this problem

It could also be that the PTO side is not firing properly...... Possibily coil or lead from coil.
You could test the voltage output required for spark with a adjustable spark tester.

How is the compression on both cylinders?

Just going to do that tonight a compression test. talkgin to BigDawg and said it should be like over 130 and less then 10% difference.

Just rebuilt the top end last season too....

The dealer's diagnostic tool is only going to be able to test them electrically. Flow testing is above what the diagnostic tool can doo. I beleive it would be easier to pull the motor to R&R the injectors, must for an 06. Before I did this, unless the problem was occuring all too often, I'd be checking spark, oil pump adjustment (open check valve possible?), throttle body synchronization, etc.

How many miles on the injectors before they might need cleaned. I have an 08 700 that I am rebuilding with 2500 miles and was wondering if I should send them off to be cleaned while they are out or if its a waste of money at this point

Thanks MountainHorse for the link. Think they are going to be getting mine this summer. Cheapest I have found for a cleaning.

If you are that far in to test them then now is the time to send them in for service!
Have heard of fuel tank removal to access injectors but have NEVER tried it so it's a rumor!..!
