How do I get my instrument gauge out?

I'm trying to remove my instrument gauge/speedo off my hood and put it on a different hood. Is there a trick to doing it? Youve got that rubber band around the inside I'm guessing needs to come off first. But I don't want to damage or tear it in the process.

I found it easier if you remove the hood.
Disconnect headlight and wiring harness.
Put it on a table and while pulling up from the top push up from the bottom. It took some force but once I got a corner out the rest just popped out.
It will come out with the rubber ring attached.
To get it back in a little dish soap may make things easier.

Guess my typing is a lot slower than Skibreeze.

Like the others say, it is very snug, but will push out. Concentrate on one side primarily and go easy.

Alot like your first girlfriend, just be patient and keep trying, eventually she'll do what ya want! :face-icon-small-win

wd40 on the edges, getting it back in dry is the real trick..
i take wd a gain and put some on my finger, put in the rubber piece and run a bead around the edge, then push in
it still holds in there good and drys up after a day

I took a heat gun and warmed it up and it can right out to but it back use windex ,dries in minutes
