More than one way to skin a cat.....

Make sure to spend plenty of time on the prep, that is what separates a durable paint job from one that lasts 2 rides.

Make sure to sand it real well, prime it with a good primer sealer, and then shoot it with the color you want. If you are good with a rattle can, go that route, but know that it takes more effort to make it look good.

I have found that when I custom paint a hood, it always gets wrecked. Now I either leave them stock or my last custom job was semi-gloss black. I used Dupli-color rattle can bed liner and it is still holding up quite well. Scratches don't hardly even show.

Remember, prep is key.

Dont take it to a regular body shop they will charge you up to pooper to do a 20 minute job. Go talk to a used car dealer to find out who does there body work. They know who does the best body work for the cheapest.
