Anybody have one of these go bad? Looks like it is putting out inconsistent voltage, it fried my x box. Any generator experts out there that can help?

they voltage out of a generator is not conditioned (at least most portable generators) and should not be used for sensitive electrical equipment. ie - computers/video games/etc.

I thought that the EU gensets were cycloconverters, in that they behave like inverters?

The question is, do they give off a true sine wave, or modified sine wave?

If you have to run sensitive electronics, I think you need a good Inverter, one that puts out Pure Sine wave...

Modified Sine wave is no good for certain electronic items. Makes them run at the wrong speeds, etc.

Enjoying a nice "post sledding" evening im my motorhome. And according to Honda:

This super quiet generator is extremely portable (at only 29 lbs.) as well as fuel efficient, running up to 8.3 hours on a single tank of gas when used with the Eco-Throttle feature. This easy starting generator produces only 59dB of sound at 7 meters running at full load, which is less than common speech. The Honda Inverter Technology makes this generator ideally suited for use with sensitive electronics (e.g., computer, printer, and other sensitive electronic equipment) because the generator produces a clean sine wave of energy that prevents surging. To prevent any possible damage to the unit, the Oil Alert will shut the unit off when the oil drops below a safe operating level. The unit also has a DC terminal for use when charging 12-volt automotive type batteries. The available power is commonly used for the following typical electric device:

• Fans, TV, Radios
• Small Power Tools i.e. 1/4" drill
• Small Kitchen Appliances (i.e. Blender)

That might be the newer version... Mine is 8 years old or so.... It runs 4-5 hours with a load on it on a tank of gas.... Can use some electronics on it but nothing hi-tech like an XBox. Solid state stuff is OK.
