homemade mesh hoods

Ok Ive been tossing the idea around about building a mesh hood for my edge. Has anyone done this before. If you have how did you build it. Did you have any blueprints for it also.

I was thinking using some half inch emt conduit and some flat aluminum would work for the frame. but how would you attach the mesh to it.

Been done a million times.

I wouldn't use EMT, I'd use aluminum round bar, or tube. I'd use aluminum round bar for the upper part of the hood, or use aluminum flat bar.

The best way to attach it is a combination of things. If you wrapping around round bar or tube, use heavy thread, and sew it. If your attaching to flat bar, glue it or use small zip ties or large head pop rivets.
