Holy crap the avy danger is high!

Yeah, when the first thing on the NWAC page talks about Special Conditions, Watches, and Warnings they should not be taken lightly!

www.nwac.us is one of the first "favorites" on my computers tool bar....it only takes a matter of seconds to check the conditions.

I agree, in weather like this, my plan of action is to follow the guys on A-cats around, no way we are close to a hill !!

Relax, just kidding. Sure gonna be a weekend to be super careful. Hopefully folks pay attention.

Thursday: Further significantly increasing danger early Thursday becoming extreme above 5000 feet and high below. Large to very large and potentially destructive avalanches in many areas. Avoid all avalanche terrain above 5000 feet. Decreasing danger Thursday night.

Good idea to wait this one out. :attention:

Concern #1: The warming and heavy loading early Thursday, as well as a wind shift in the passes producing a sudden warm up, should cause a significant increase in the danger Thursday morning in all areas. Some very large and potentially destructive avalanches are possible Thursday. These larger slides would likely involve all the recent storm snow since late last week. By Thursday morning this could be 10 to 15 feet or more on wind loaded slopes! Due to these conditions travel in avalanche terrain is not recommended Thursday and travel in avalanche terrain at higher elevations should be avoided.

Ride safe. Be smart. Be a flatlander this week and weekend. Not a flatliner.. and bring your scuba gear.

Ya... flatlander for sure... 30 inches is one thing but 100 "a is out of the park.... all I see is black on avy conditions

Yeah play it safe and go Kiteboarding instead!

alot less in fuel too

I broke off a 3ft crown ski cutting above a cliff band snowboarding on Tuesday. This layer is not bonded at all. It snowed some 8"+ while I was riding that day too. Careful out there.
