Hit the hills for the first time today

Took it out again today

Still running 7650 climbing. Still same old belt though; I ordered an 048 Cat belt and I'm going to try it out. No misses at all though, the injectors last year must have taken care of it pretty good. Snow was a little springish, but still a good 45 mile ride.

That's the first negative comment I've ever heard of the HPS can. Scott at HPS, my dealer and several others have all said if anything you should gain just a little on the RPM's.

I actually just put one on myself, but no miles on it yet.

I haven't switched back to the stock can. The sled runs so crisp and clean, no bog, no cut out, so I just decided to make another early season run on the old belt. I ordered an 048 Cat belt that should be here in a few days; I'm going to try that and see. I assume I'm just running on a worn out belt because everything else is flawless. 8050 rpm on the trail by the way. Just a little short on R's but I will start getting serious about diagnosis if it doesn't go away after I put a new belt on, but I bet it will.

*Most interesting part of the day: Watching the local Cat dealer owner and two mechanics pull out a new proclimb 1100T with a new proclimb m800. Said they boiled the coolant right out of the 1100, but who knows what exactly happened.

The M1100 T was actually out of gas from kickin Pro RMK butt all day.....:face-icon-small-hap

No a coolant hose came loose and they lost all the coolant is why it was towed back. It didn't overheat and ran great besides that and so did the M800.

Might be worthwhile to throw the stock can on and try it out first. Bring the new belt with you and if changing the stock can doesn't work throw the new one back on.

I put a HPS can on last year and gained 150 rpms. Very happy with it, fit and finish is like no other.

All I have to say is that I hope a 1100 cat would beat a 800 pro or I would be pissed if I was the cat owner.:face-icon-small-con

Yea your right a 1100 four stroke turbo closer in HP to a 800 two stroke than the Pro RMK is. The cat should be putting out alot more HP.:face-icon-small-win All I have to say is for the HP the pro has it kicks pretty good butt.:face-icon-small-hap Just setting the facts strait from snide comment of a former cat owner with a little humor.

Didn't mean to be snide

I didn't say anything about horsepower, or trash the Cat at all. All I did was say that I saw a cat getting pulled out, and that I was skeptical of the reason it was being pulled out. After all, I was told the sled idled too long and boiled the antifreeze out. You just said a hose came loose and leaked antifreeze out. Not the same thing? I'm sure the Cats are great, way better than the Poo's.... if this is true I'm sure I'll own one shortly!
